Most it product manager roles in Virginia require a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or a related field, followed by experience in software development, business analysis, or technical project management. Virginia does not issue a state license for this role, but earning a recognized product management credential such as a Certified Product Manager designation from the Association of International Product Professionals strengthens your candidacy. Many Virginia employers, particularly federal contractors in Northern Virginia, also value a Project Management Professional credential.

Which Virginia cities have the most it product manager jobs?

Northern Virginia dominates due to the concentration of federal agencies, defense contractors, and cloud infrastructure companies anchored in Tysons, Reston, and Arlington, while Richmond draws demand from financial services firms and state government technology offices, and Hampton Roads reflects the region's strong Navy and defense IT presence.
