What You'll Do
As an Entry-Level Chemist, you will:
- Support chemical manufacturing operations by providing technical oversight of work orders and developing work instructions.
- Perform hands-on chemical synthesis and collaborate with production teams to improve manufacturing processes.
- Assist the Quality and Technical departments with investigations, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
- Collect, analyze, and interpret production and process data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Prepare technical reports, production summaries, and engineering documentation.
- Assist with installation, inspection, maintenance, and optimization of process equipment.
- Work closely with Production, Quality, and Technnical teams on process improvement projects.
- Review and update operating procedures, work instructions, and technical documentation.
- Support equipment modifications and manufacturing improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate chemical processes, materials, and production requirements.
- Maintain accurate technical records and project documentation.
- Promote a safe work environment by following all company safety and environmental procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
- Work in both office and manufacturing environments, including exposure to industrial equipment and chemical processes while following all required safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking ForRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline required. M.S Chemistry or higher will be considered.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of chemistry principles and industrial applications
- Mechanical aptitude with an interest in industrial equipment and manufacturing processes
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and process documentation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be willing to successfully complete a background check
Preferred Qualifications
Experience is not required, but the following are a plus:
- Internship or experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Chemical production or process development experience
- Familiarity with pumps, valves, piping systems, mixers, reactors, or other industrial equipment
- Knowledge of process improvement methodologies
- Experience with CAD software, process flow diagrams, or engineering documentation
- Understanding of environmental, health, and safety regulations
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments
- Ability to stand and walk throughout the facility
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders when necessary
- Ability to work around chemical processes and industrial equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
