Texas does not require a state-issued license for most analyst positions, though candidates pursuing roles in securities or investment advice may need to pass FINRA exams such as the Series 7 or Series 63. Building proficiency in Excel, SQL, and data visualization tools strengthens most applications.

Houston's energy and healthcare sectors, Dallas's financial services and technology corridors, and Austin's fast-growing tech and startup ecosystem drive the bulk of hiring, while suburban hubs like Plano, Irving, and Round Rock add volume thanks to large corporate campuses anchored there.
