Junior Analyst Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a junior analyst in Pennsylvania?
A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a quantitative field is the standard entry point for junior analyst roles in Pennsylvania. No state-issued license is required for most analyst positions, though finance-track roles at Pennsylvania banks and investment firms may favor candidates pursuing the CFA designation. Employers in the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh markets frequently recruit directly from Pennsylvania's large university population, including Wharton, Carnegie Mellon's Tepper School, and Penn State.
Which companies hire junior analysts in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania junior analyst roles are posted by Valvoline Instant Oil Change, W.B. Mason Company, and 84 Lumber and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Pennsylvania's strong base of healthcare systems, insurance companies, and financial institutions means demand is distributed across both the Philadelphia corridor and the Pittsburgh metro.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most junior analyst jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg have the most junior analyst openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia dominates because of its concentration of financial services firms, health insurers, and corporate headquarters, while Pittsburgh's growth in technology and healthcare analytics drives demand there, and Harrisburg generates openings through state government agencies and government contractors operating in the capital region.
Are there remote junior analyst jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 24% of junior analyst openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting the desk-based and data-driven nature of the work. Roles focused on financial modeling, reporting, and business intelligence tend to offer the most location flexibility, particularly at larger Philadelphia-area employers.
How can I get hired as a junior analyst in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a formal rotational or new-graduate analyst program at one of Pennsylvania's anchor employers. UPMC, Highmark Health, and Comcast each run structured associate or rotational programs that place entry-level candidates into analyst functions. Lateral moves from related roles such as operations coordinator, financial services representative, or data technician are also common. Building proficiency in Excel and SQL and completing a relevant internship at a Philadelphia or Pittsburgh firm significantly strengthens a candidate's application.
Where can I find and apply to junior analyst jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to junior analyst jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings across industries and metros. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match.
