- Demonstrated ability to interpret research data and turn it into actionable insights.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills that promote idea-sharing and knowledge transfer.
- Proficient in design and prototyping tools (Figma, Balsamiq, Miro, whiteboards, etc.)
You may have other skills or credentials, including:

User Experience Design Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a user experience design in Texas?
User experience design has no state-issued license in Texas, so entry is portfolio- and education-driven. Most Texas employers expect at least a bachelor's degree in UX design, human-computer interaction, graphic design, or a related field, though bootcamp graduates with strong portfolios are regularly hired. Building case studies that document your research and design process end to end is the most direct path to landing interviews with Texas companies.
How much do user experience designs make in Texas?
User experience designs in Texas earn a median of about $102,650 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,290 for the lowest 10% to over $168,620 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire user experience designs in Texas?
Employers hiring user experience designs in Texas right now include Photon, BetterUp, and Affirm, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Texas's large technology, financial services, and healthcare sectors generate consistent UX openings year-round across both product companies and enterprise organizations.
Which Texas cities have the most user experience design jobs?
Dallas, Austin, and Irving have the most user experience design openings in Texas. Austin's dense technology and startup ecosystem drives the highest concentration, while Dallas and Houston generate strong demand through corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and major health systems that each maintain in-house UX teams.
Are there remote user experience design jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 19% of user experience design openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how well the work translates to distributed collaboration tools. Research, interaction design, and design systems roles tend to be the most remote-friendly, while on-site or hybrid arrangements are more common for roles requiring frequent stakeholder workshops.
How can I get hired as a user experience design in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an associate or junior designer role at a Texas agency or mid-size tech company, where you contribute to real projects while building your portfolio. Large Texas employers such as Dell Technologies and USAA run internship and early-career design programs that feed into full-time positions. Adjacent roles like UX writing, visual design, or product marketing can also serve as lateral entry points, and completing a recognized UX certification strengthens applications when experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to user experience design jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to user experience design jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly from each listing.
