Position Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Logistics Coordinator to support daily warehouse and transportation operations. This role combines inventory control, shipment coordination (LTL/FTL), interdepartmental communication, and forklift work. You will help keep freight moving accurately and on time while maintaining professional communication with internal teams, carriers, and customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track LTL and FTL shipments; obtain and evaluate quotes from carriers
- Manage inventory identification, accuracy, and movements using WMS systems
- Perform receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and staging of freight as needed
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently (must obtain/maintain SEKO certification)
- Communicate professionally and clearly via email and phone with internal departments, carriers, and customers
- Support interdepartmental coordination to resolve issues quickly and proactively
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in WMS and related systems
- Respond to day-to-day operational challenges with sound judgment and a forward-thinking approach
- Assist with other warehouse and logistics duties as assigned
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Advanced computer proficiency (Microsoft Office suite, especially Outlook, Excel, and email)
- Strong professional written and verbal communication skills, particularly email and interdepartmental communication
- Knowledge of inventory control and identification processes
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) strongly preferred
- Hands-on experience acquiring quotes and coordinating LTL and FTL shipments
- Quick learner with the ability to think on your feet and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Forward-thinking mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work a somewhat flexible schedule (including occasional overtime or adjusted hours based on operational needs)
Preferred
- Prior experience in a 3PL, freight forwarding, or warehouse logistics environment
- Familiarity with domestic ground transportation networks and carrier management
