INTRODUCTION
The Sr Logistics Staff Manager is responsible for leading all logistics, transportation, import/export compliance, and tooling movement activities across the region. This role ensures critical tooling assets are available to support customer outages, maintenance activities, and operational requirements through safe, compliant, and cost-effective logistics execution.
As the regional subject matter expert for logistics and trade compliance, the Tooling Logistics Manager partners with Tool Centers, Service Operations, Finance, Sourcing, Customs Authorities, and Logistics Service Providers to drive operational excellence, regulatory compliance, supplier performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Transportation Management:
- Lead the planning, execution, and performance of domestic and international tooling logistics operations across North America.
- Ensure on-time delivery, visibility, and return of tooling assets to support customer and operational requirements.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for transportation, customs, and logistics service issues.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies that optimize service, compliance, cost, and operational efficiency.
Trade Compliance & Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with all applicable customs, import/export, transportation, and trade regulations.
- Manage ATA Carnets, temporary imports/exports, customs bonds, Free Trade Zone activities, and related compliance programs.
- Serve as the regional point of contact for customs authorities, audits, inspections, and regulatory matters.
- Mitigate operational and compliance risks while maintaining accurate documentation and reporting.
Supplier & Financial Management:
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, transportation providers, and other logistics partners.
- Lead carrier performance management, supplier evaluations, contract support, and transportation sourcing initiatives.
- Oversee freight spend, invoice auditing, cost control activities, and logistics budget performance.
- Drive cost-out initiatives and support forecasting and financial planning activities.
Operational Excellence & Leadership:
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance logistics performance, compliance, customer satisfaction, and cost efficiency.
- Maintain data integrity and reporting within logistics and tooling management systems.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), compliance metrics, and operational dashboards.
- Coach, train, and develop logistics personnel while serving as the regional logistics subject matter expert.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, International Trade, or related field; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 8 years of logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience, including international import/export operations.
- Working knowledge of customs regulations, international trade compliance, and transportation management.
- Experience managing logistics service providers, freight operations, and transportation-related projects.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/logistics management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting power generation, industrial, manufacturing, or field service operations.
- Knowledge of ATA Carnets, Free Trade Zones, temporary import/export programs, and customs compliance processes.
- Experience with SAP, ETM, transportation management systems, and logistics analytics.
- Prior leadership experience managing personnel, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of dangerous goods transportation and hand-carry logistics operations.
Travel Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as business needs require.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.

Relocation Assistance Provided: No
For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
