Landscape Maintenance & Hardscape Technician – Independent Contractor

Job Description

Desert Gold Hardscapes is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and motivated Landscape Maintenance & Hardscape Technician to join our growing team on an independent contractor basis.

This is a flexible, floater position for someone with experience in landscape maintenance and some knowledge of artificial turf, irrigation, leveling, and hardscape installation.

You'll have opportunities to assist experienced contractors on larger projects while also taking on smaller landscaping, maintenance, irrigation, and hardscape jobs independently.

We're looking for someone who wants to grow with our company, develop additional skills, and increase their earning potential as more projects become available.

Position Responsibilities

Project Assistance – Fixed Daily Labor Compensation

When assigned to assist our contractors on larger projects, responsibilities may include:

• Artificial turf installation and preparation
• Paver and hardscape installation assistance
• Grading, leveling, and ground preparation
• Landscape rock and decorative stone installation
• Irrigation installation and repairs
• Trenching, digging, and general site preparation
• Material handling and job-site cleanup
• Assisting experienced contractors with landscaping and hardscape projects

Independent Maintenance & Smaller Jobs – 70% Commission

You will also have opportunities to independently handle smaller jobs assigned by Desert Gold Hardscapes, including:

• Residential landscape maintenance
• Yard cleanups and debris removal
• Weed removal and general landscape upkeep
• Irrigation troubleshooting and repairs
• Small paver repairs and leveling
• Minor hardscape installations and repairs
• Artificial turf repairs and smaller installations
• Rock spreading and landscape touch-ups
• Other smaller landscaping projects within your skill level

Compensation Structure

This position offers two ways to earn:

1. Project Assistance: Fixed daily contractor compensation for assisting on larger projects, based on the assigned work and agreed schedule.

2. Independent Jobs: Earn 70% commission on the collected revenue from assigned landscape maintenance, irrigation, and smaller hardscape projects.

Materials for commission-based jobs will be deducted from the contractor's 70% share. Material costs and project pricing will be communicated before the contractor accepts an assignment.

Higher daily earnings are possible depending on the number, size, and type of independently completed jobs. Work availability and earnings are not guaranteed.

Requirements

• Previous landscape maintenance experience required
• Some experience with artificial turf, pavers, irrigation, grading, or hardscapes preferred
• Must own a reliable truck
• Must have basic landscaping tools and equipment
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to perform physical outdoor work in Arizona weather
• Comfortable working independently or alongside other contractors
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Dependable, punctual, and responsive to job opportunities
• Willingness to sign an Independent Contractor Agreement and confidentiality/customer non-solicitation agreement
• Comfortable updating project statuses, notes, photos, and completion information in our CRM software

Schedule & Availability

This is a flexible, on-call floater position with work assigned based on project needs and customer demand.

You may be called upon to assist with larger projects, complete scheduled maintenance visits, or independently handle smaller landscaping and hardscape jobs.

There are no guaranteed weekly hours. We are looking for someone who is responsive, available when needed, and interested in taking on additional projects as opportunities arise.
