- Evaluate customer system requirements and identify high-value combinations of Infineon hardware, software, and architecture capabilities for each priority market, application, and strategic customer, including complete application software as a key differentiator.
- Set funnel targets by market, region, and customer; review progress with regional teams; identify gaps; and drive corrective action.
- Participate directly in strategically important design-win pursuits, particularly when cross-product-line coordination is required.
- Build customer intimacy through technically substantive engagement with customer engineering, system architecture, and executive teams; gain early access to roadmaps; lead joint concept workshops; and participate directly in critical opportunities.
- Influence product and software roadmaps by translating system requirements, customer use cases, market trends, and competitive insight into technically grounded capability recommendations.
- Define the technical and commercial intent for reference designs, demonstration platforms, system-solution concepts, customer proofs of concept, tradeshow demonstrations, and supporting technical and sales content.
- Develop strategic ecosystem partnerships when external capabilities are needed to complete solutions or accelerate commercial success.

- Direct experience with HMI products, technologies, or markets.
- Ability to engage at a detailed technical level with customer and internal engineering teams, connect application requirements to system architecture, and recognize practical implementation constraints.
- Demonstrated success leading global, cross-functional initiatives and working through matrix organizations.
- Strong technical fluency across embedded hardware, software, and system architecture, with the ability to evaluate tradeoffs, identify meaningful differentiation, and constructively challenge technical and commercial assumptions.
- Experience defining software-enabled solutions and a practical understanding of software architecture, integration requirements, development environments, and the role of application software in customer adoption.
- A record of building qualified opportunity funnels, converting opportunities into design wins, creating go-to-market strategies, and developing differentiated value propositions.
- Executive-level communication skills and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling strategic and customer value narratives, influence across cultures and functions, and resolve conflict constructively.
- Experience developing technical and marketing talent.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical or business discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Semiconductor-industry experience.
- Experience in at least two target markets, such as consumer, smart home and building, appliances, medical, robotics, or related HMI growth markets.

Marketing Director Jobs in San Jose: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a marketing director job in San Jose?
The clearest path in San Jose is building deep experience in B2B technology, SaaS, or semiconductor marketing, since those sectors drive the bulk of local demand. Roles concentrate in North San Jose's tech campuses and the Downtown corridor. Candidates who can show product launch experience, pipeline ownership, or demand generation results for a technical product move faster through hiring at San Jose employers than generalist marketing profiles.
Which companies hire marketing directors in San Jose?
Companies currently hiring marketing directors in San Jose include Adobe, Astera Labs, and Diocese of San Jose in California, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. San Jose's employer mix skews heavily toward enterprise technology firms, chipmakers, and B2B software companies, so most openings come from established tech brands and well-funded scale-ups rather than consumer or retail organizations.
Are there remote marketing director jobs in San Jose?
Yes, though remote availability is more common for strategy, content, and demand generation roles than for those requiring close coordination with local product or sales teams. About 43% of marketing director openings tied to San Jose are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the tech industry's relatively flexible policies. Roles tied to events, field marketing, or executive stakeholder management in San Jose tend to require more in-office presence.
How can I get a marketing director job in San Jose with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in San Jose is moving up from a senior manager or marketing manager role inside a local tech or semiconductor company, where internal promotions are common. San Jose's mid-size SaaS and hardware firms often give high-performing managers director-level scope before the title, which builds the portfolio needed to compete. Volunteering for cross-functional product launches or owning a regional campaign from start to finish accelerates that transition at San Jose employers more than additional certifications.
Which industries hire the most marketing directors in San Jose?
The sectors hiring the most marketing directors in San Jose are Electronics & Hardware and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. San Jose's position as the core of Silicon Valley means those industries sustain consistent director-level hiring, particularly for roles tied to product marketing, corporate communications, and go-to-market strategy for global technology products.
