Marketing Manager Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a marketing manager job in Boston?
Target the sectors that drive Boston's marketing hiring: life sciences and biotech, financial services, higher education, and enterprise technology. Companies in the Seaport District, Back Bay, and the Longwood Medical Area post consistently. Candidates with experience in content strategy, demand generation, or B2B marketing stand out locally. Networking through Boston-area industry groups and alumni networks at local universities also opens doors that cold applications often don't.
Which companies hire marketing managers in Boston?
Employers hiring marketing managers in Boston right now include Veeva Systems, Amazon Web Services, and Boston University, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's mix of Fortune 500 firms, fast-growing biotech companies, and well-funded startups means openings range from global brands managing national campaigns to growth-stage companies building their marketing function from scratch.
Are there remote marketing manager jobs in Boston?
Yes, though availability depends on the role. Marketing manager work is well-suited to remote arrangements for digital, content, and demand generation functions, while brand, events, and field marketing roles typically require in-person presence. About 46% of marketing manager openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting the city's strong tech and SaaS employer base. Hybrid schedules anchored to the Seaport or Back Bay are the most common flexible arrangement locally.
How can I get a marketing manager job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is moving up from a marketing coordinator or specialist role at a local company rather than applying directly to manager titles. Boston's biotech and edtech sectors regularly hire junior marketers and promote from within. Roles in content, social media, or marketing operations at a Boston startup or university give you the project ownership hiring managers look for. Building a portfolio with measurable campaign results, even from smaller projects, moves candidates ahead of equally inexperienced peers.
Which industries hire the most marketing managers in Boston?
The sectors hiring the most marketing managers in Boston are Technology & Software, Banking & Financial Services, and Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Boston's concentration of research hospitals, university spinouts, and venture-backed technology companies creates sustained demand for marketers who can communicate complex products and services to specialized audiences.
