Role Description
Provides support to the pilot program sites and is responsible for assisting with the development and execution of programs to increase quality initiatives, training and coaching.
Reports to: Executive Director
Functions and Responsibilities
The Marketing & Communications Manager leads the development and execution of strategic communications that elevate Thrive By 5 Louisville’s mission, engage stakeholders, and expand community awareness. This role is responsible for managing brand identity, storytelling, media relations, digital presence, and public engagement efforts.
The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic communicator who is passionate about early childhood development and equity, with a strong ability to translate complex initiatives into compelling, accessible messaging.
Strategy & Planning
· In conjunction with a contracted firm, create and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with organizational goals
· Identify target audiences and tailor messaging to stakeholders, including families, funders, policymakers, and community partners
· Track and report on communications performance using data and analytics
· Management and collaboration with marketing & communications vendors
· Create and manage key performance indicators to amplify growth and brand recognition
Content Development & Storytelling
· Create compelling content across platforms (website, newsletters, social media, reports, press materials)
· Capture and share stories that highlight impact, partnerships, and community voices
· Maintain consistent brand messaging and visual identity
· Identify storytelling opportunities to highlight across all media platforms
· Create collateral materials to achieve organizational goals and community need
· Create and implement regularly occurring external communications (e-newsletter) to target audiences
· Provide graphic design and video editing for a wide range of strategic projects
Digital & Social Media
· Manage Thrive By 5 Louisville’s digital presence, including website updates and social media channels
· Achieve goals to reach target audiences through social media targeting
· Develop and execute paid social media campaigns to increase engagement and reach
· Monitor trends and adapt strategies to maximize visibility
· Create and edit short videos to highlight strategic organizational initiatives
· Manage and report detailed analytics related to external traditional and social media initiatives
· Manage TB5L website content, updates align external presence with internal goals
Stakeholder Engagement
· Support communications for partnerships, events, and community initiatives
· Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to align messaging
· Assist in developing materials for funders and community reports, including annual reports
· Create and execute regular stakeholder newsletters on monthly basis
· Identify key trusted partners to create opportunities to share the mission of Thrive
Brand Management
· Ensure consistent use of Thrive By 5 Louisville’s brand across all materials
· Develop templates and guidelines for internal and external communications
· Align brand expansion and management strategies with emerging technologies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or related field
- 3–5+ years of experience in marketing, communications and public relations
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Experience managing social media platforms and digital campaigns
- Strong organizational skills, time management and ability to manage multiple projects
- Experience working in nonprofit, education, or community-focused organizations
- Knowledge of early childhood education or family support systems
- Familiarity with CRM, email marketing tools, and analytics platforms
- Strategic thinking and creativity
- Cultural competence and commitment to equity
- Attention to detail and brand consistency
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience supporting community-based providers or partner organizations preferred
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- High-level competency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), graphic/multimedia design programs and digital media platforms.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to new systems and processes, and work independently when needed.
- Strong customer-service orientation and relationship-building skills.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
