Independent pediatric practice seeking a pediatric-trained medical assistant at our office at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children. This is a full-time position covering both front and back office duties. Responsibilities and duties are listed below, and on-the-job training is provided. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with kids and families, who has a friendly and positive attitude, with strong attention to detail, a quick learner, and ability to multitask well.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Take and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
- Prepare patients for examinations and treatments
- Administer vaccinations
- Prepare and maintain examination rooms and medical equipment
- Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and answering phones
Experience:
- Ideal candidate would be someone who has worked in pediatrics for at least 1 year with experience in taking vital signs and administering vaccines
- Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred. Preference given to those who have experience in pediatrics.
- Strong patient service skills with the ability to provide compassionate care and work together in a collaborative team with other staff members
- Familiarity with medical administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Experience with EPIC EMR is a plus.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification (preferred )
- Friendly with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
- Team player with effective ability to collaborate with colleagues
