Key responsibilities include organizing local support groups, educational opportunities and community outreach to family caregivers, and providing case management within program guidelines. Additional duties include supporting caregiver classes, events, volunteer trainings as needed, as well as assisting with grant reporting requirements and compliance audits. Requires strong communication, organizational skills, knowledge of older adult and caregiver needs, specifically challenges related to dementia, and ability to travel within designated Ohio counties.
Skills and Qualification Requirements:
- Have an interest in creating relationships with new people and helping them to connect with services/resources in the community;
- Extensive knowledge of older adults and of family caregiver responsibilities, stressors, issues and needs;
- Ability to work effectively with family caregivers from varied socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds;
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely when appropriate;
- Flexibility, organizational and time management skills for independent daily management;
- The ability to travel within the following Ohio Counties: Clark, Champaign, Logan
- A minimum of 1 year of experience working with older adults, preferably experience also with family caregivers in a professional role.
- Volunteer Management experience
Part time, pay range $23-$25/hour
