Nursing Assistant Jobs in Nevada: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a nursing assistant in Nevada?
To become a nursing assistant in Nevada, you must complete a state-approved training program and pass the Nevada Nurse Aide Competency Examination, which includes a written test and a skills demonstration. After passing, you are listed on the Nevada Nurse Aide Registry, maintained by the Nevada State Board of Nursing. Most training programs are offered through community colleges, vocational schools, and long-term care facilities across the state.
Which companies hire nursing assistants in Nevada?
Employers hiring nursing assistants in Nevada right now include Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare, Henderson Hospital, and PAM Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's concentration of large hospital systems and senior living communities in the Las Vegas and Reno metro areas means steady openings across both acute and post-acute care settings.
Which Nevada cities have the most nursing assistant jobs?
The cities with the most nursing assistant openings in Nevada are Carson City, Las Vegas, and Reno. Las Vegas accounts for the largest share of postings due to its size and the density of hospital systems, rehabilitation centers, and assisted living communities serving a rapidly expanding senior population, while Reno and Henderson contribute meaningfully through regional medical campuses and skilled nursing facilities anchored by established health systems.
Are there remote nursing assistant jobs in Nevada?
Yes, but they're rare. Nursing assistant work is inherently hands-on and requires direct patient contact, so the vast majority of roles are on-site. About 0% of nursing assistant openings tied to Nevada are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve administrative support, care coordination, or telephonic patient follow-up rather than direct clinical duties.
How can I get hired as a nursing assistant in Nevada with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is enrolling in a state-approved training program at a community college such as the College of Southern Nevada or Truckee Meadows Community College, which offer short-duration courses leading directly to the Nevada Nurse Aide Registry. Large Nevada long-term care operators and hospital systems frequently hire newly certified aides for entry-level positions, and candidates who have worked as home health aides, patient care technicians, or hospital unit assistants often transition successfully into nursing assistant roles with their existing hands-on background.
Where can I find and apply to nursing assistant jobs in Nevada?
You can find and apply to nursing assistant jobs in Nevada on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the Nevada market. Search the listings to find roles that match your certification level and preferred care setting, then apply directly to the ones that fit your background and availability.
