Nursing Technician Jobs in Montana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a nursing technician in Montana?
Most nursing technician roles in Montana require active registration as a certified nursing assistant through the Montana Board of Nursing. You complete a state-approved CNA training program, pass the written and skills competency exams administered through Prometric, and then appear on the Montana Nurse Aide Registry. Some employers hire nursing or allied health students in good standing as technicians while they complete their degree, treating enrollment as an equivalent credential.
Which companies hire nursing technicians in Montana?
Employers hiring nursing technicians in Montana right now include Logan Health, Billings Clinic, and North West Home Care, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Montana's dominant health systems and critical access hospitals across rural counties tend to hire continuously given ongoing staffing needs throughout the state.
Which Montana cities have the most nursing technician jobs?
Kalispell, Billings, and Missoula lead Montana for nursing technician openings. Billings drives the largest share as home to Billings Clinic and St. Vincent Healthcare, while Missoula and Great Falls benefit from major regional medical centers, Providence St. Patrick Hospital and Benefis Health System respectively, that serve large surrounding rural populations and generate consistent technician-level demand.

The portions of the role most likely to appear in a remote or hybrid format are administrative support functions, patient scheduling assistance, and health system call-center roles that carry a nursing technician title.
How can I get hired as a nursing technician in Montana with little or no experience?
