The Assistant Director of Clinic Nursing plays a key leadership role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, patient centered care across outpatient settings. This position collaborates with the Director of Clinic Nursing to oversee daily clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote evidence-based practice while fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and professional development among clinical staff. Responsibilities included supervising clinical personnel, optimizing workflows, managing budgets and resources, and implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction. The Assistant Director also serves as a liaison between clinic leadership, providers, and interdisciplinary teams, helping to drive strategic goals, support staff engagement, and ensure consistent standards of care across all clinic sites.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a health related field or RN with a minimum of 12 months experience in health care setting OR Associate’s degree in health related field or LPN with a minimum of 36 months experience in health care setting.
- Ability to work independently and exercise clinical judgment in interactions with Physicians, payers, patients and their families. Resourcefulness in problem solving.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, as evidenced by a capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and role components.
- Strong proven analytical and data management skills.
- Aware of scope of practice boundaries, comfortable seeking direction and assistance from appropriate resources.
- Communication – Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Excellent negotiation skills.
- Computer Skills – Proficient ability to use a computer and electronic medical record. Beginner to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Confidentiality – Maintain patient, team member and employer confidentiality. Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines. Comply with all HIPAA regulations.
- Customer Service Oriented – Friendly, cheerful and helpful to patients and others. Ability to meet patients and others needs while following office policies and procedures. Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and strong cultural competency.
- Delegating – Able to take and follow through with delegated tasks and accountability. Ability to allocate authority and/or task responsibility to appropriate team members, peers or superiors.
