Occupational Therapist Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a occupational therapist job in Dallas?
The strongest entry point in Dallas is targeting the Medical District and the network of hospital systems, outpatient rehab groups, and pediatric specialty clinics concentrated there and in Uptown. Dallas-Fort Worth's large school districts also hire occupational therapists steadily for pediatric caseloads. Candidates with hand therapy, pediatric, or neurorehabilitation specializations tend to stand out in this market, where employer demand leans toward those specific practice areas.
Which companies hire occupational therapists in Dallas?
Employers hiring occupational therapists in Dallas right now include Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation, Connect Pediatrics, and Texas Health Resources, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Dallas's hiring base ranges from major academic medical centers and large for-profit rehab networks to independent outpatient clinics and public school systems across the metro.
Are there remote occupational therapist jobs in Dallas?
Yes, but only for a narrow slice of the field, since most occupational therapist roles require hands-on patient care and on-site presence. About 10% of occupational therapist openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions tend to be in utilization review, care coordination, or telehealth-based cognitive or home modification consulting.
How can I get a occupational therapist job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is landing a fieldwork rotation or a new-graduate position at one of the metro's large hospital systems or outpatient rehab chains, which hire entry-level OTs regularly. Dallas Independent School District and surrounding suburban districts also hire new graduates for school-based roles. Completing your NBCOT exam quickly, being open to PRN shifts, and targeting Level II fieldwork sites in Dallas directly improves your odds considerably.
Which industries hire the most occupational therapists in Dallas?
Most occupational therapist openings in Dallas sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Agriculture & Farming, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Dallas's concentration of major hospital systems, a large public school enrollment base, and a growing senior-care and skilled-nursing sector across the metro all drive consistent demand across those industries.
