Operations Intern Jobs in Oklahoma: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a operations intern in Oklahoma?
Most operations intern positions in Oklahoma require active enrollment in or recent completion of a bachelor's program in business administration, industrial engineering, supply chain management, or a related field. No state-issued license is required for the role. Employers across Oklahoma City and Tulsa typically recruit through university career centers, especially at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma State University, and the University of Tulsa, making strong academic standing and relevant coursework the primary entry credentials.
Which companies hire operations interns in Oklahoma?
Employers hiring operations interns in Oklahoma right now include Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Troon, and MHC Kenworth, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Oklahoma's energy sector and large regional healthcare systems tend to run the most structured intern programs, offering rotations across multiple operational functions.
Which Oklahoma cities have the most operations intern jobs?
Oklahoma City, Alva, and Tulsa hold the most operations intern openings in Oklahoma. Oklahoma City dominates due to its concentration of energy company headquarters, regional healthcare networks, and government contractors, while Tulsa adds volume through its refining, aerospace, and manufacturing base, and Stillwater draws postings tied to Oklahoma State University's industry partnerships and surrounding agribusiness operations.
Are there remote operations intern jobs in Oklahoma?
Yes, but they're limited. Operations intern work in Oklahoma is often tied to on-site processes such as warehouse flow, plant floor support, or in-person team coordination, which keeps fully remote placements uncommon. About 0% of operations intern openings tied to Oklahoma are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those openings tend to concentrate in data analysis, process documentation, and reporting support functions that can be done off-site.
How can I get hired as a operations intern in Oklahoma with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to structured internship programs at large Oklahoma employers before completing your degree. Devon Energy, ONEOK, and major Oklahoma City-area hospital systems all run formal intern cohorts that explicitly recruit students with limited experience. Adjacent roles like administrative assistant, data entry analyst, or inventory clerk at Oklahoma distribution centers and manufacturing facilities also serve as a practical bridge. Building a short portfolio of process mapping or Excel-based analysis projects from coursework strengthens any application significantly.
