Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding OPT Sponsorship as a Brand Partnerships Manager
Target companies with active brand partnership teams
Look for employers already running co-marketing programs, influencer campaigns, or strategic alliances. These companies understand the value of dedicated partnership talent and are more likely to have established visa sponsorship processes for roles they actively need to fill.
Frame your OPT timeline as an asset
Hiring managers sometimes hesitate at visa timelines. Lead with your full authorized work period upfront, and clarify that H-1B visa sponsorship, if needed, follows a predictable annual process. Removing uncertainty early keeps the conversation focused on your qualifications.
Build a portfolio of measurable partnership outcomes
Brand partnerships are results-driven. Before applying, document any campaigns, sponsorships, or collaborations you have contributed to with specific metrics like engagement lift, revenue impact, or audience growth. Concrete outcomes make your candidacy far harder to pass over.
Prioritize mid-size companies over large enterprises
Mid-size brands with growing partnership functions often have more hiring flexibility and faster decision cycles than large corporations. They are also more likely to sponsor OPT candidates who can demonstrably own a function rather than join a large, structured team.
Emphasize cross-functional collaboration skills
Brand Partnerships Managers work across legal, creative, finance, and marketing teams. Highlight experiences where you managed multiple stakeholders or coordinated complex projects. This signals you can operate independently, which matters especially when employers are evaluating OPT hires.
Apply early relative to your OPT end date
Give yourself at least four to five months before your OPT authorization expires to secure an offer and complete onboarding. Employers need time for due diligence, and starting the H-1B process with adequate runway signals professionalism and reduces friction on their side.
Brand Partnerships Manager OPT: Frequently Asked Questions
Can F-1 OPT students work as Brand Partnerships Managers in the United States?
Yes. F-1 students on post-completion OPT are authorized to work full-time in roles directly related to their field of study. Brand Partnerships Manager positions typically qualify under marketing, communications, or business degree programs. Your work must remain in a field related to your degree, so document that connection clearly when accepting an offer.
Does a Brand Partnerships Manager role qualify for the STEM OPT extension?
It depends on your degree, not the job title. If you hold a qualifying STEM degree, such as a data-driven marketing, information systems, or business analytics program on the STEM designated degree program list, you may be eligible for a 24-month STEM OPT extension. The role itself does not need to be classified as STEM, but your employer must enroll in E-Verify to support the extension.
How can I find Brand Partnerships Manager jobs that sponsor OPT students?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for F-1 OPT and visa-sponsored job searches, so it is the most efficient place to find Brand Partnerships Manager roles at employers open to sponsorship. Filtering by visa type saves significant time compared to applying broadly and discovering sponsorship limitations late in the process, which is a costly mistake given OPT timelines.
Will employers sponsor an H-1B visa for a Brand Partnerships Manager role after OPT ends?
Many do, particularly at companies where the partnerships function is central to revenue or growth strategy. Brand Partnerships Manager roles generally meet the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B eligibility, since they typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Your strongest position is with employers who already have immigration counsel and a track record of sponsoring similar roles.
What should I do if my OPT expires before I secure a Brand Partnerships Manager offer?
If your OPT expires without a qualifying job offer, you enter a 60-day grace period during which you cannot work but can remain in the U.S. to wrap up affairs or prepare to depart. Options include applying for a change of status, such as returning to full-time enrollment, or departing and re-entering on a new visa category if an offer materializes. Consult a licensed immigration attorney for guidance specific to your situation.
