ABOUT THE ROLE
We just launched Pika - Social AI Video! a viral new app (think TikTok powered by AI). With just a selfie + prompt, you can instantly create stunning, realistic videos.
We’re looking for UGC content creators and artists to help set the tone of Pika by making content that inspires others to create, remix, and share.
You do not have to have experience creating AI-content. We are looking for content creators who are active on TikTok and Instagram, actively create content, and are comfortable speaking directly to the camera and/or have a creative eye for developing new viral templates.
This is a remote, paid opportunity.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Create and post original Pika videos each week (shared on TikTok/IG and/or within the app itself)
- Experiment with prompts and showcase the newest features in fun, scroll-stopping ways
- Shape the look, feel, and trends of content on Pika
- Help spark engagement and remixes across the community
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience creating content for TikTok and Instagram Reels
- Strong creative instincts — you know what works, what’s fresh, and what catches attention
- Visual storytelling skills (hooks, pacing, aesthetics, or comedic timing)
- Openness to try new content creation tools (no AI experience required)
- Consistency and reliability in posting content each week

How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Content Creator
Confirm your degree aligns with the role
Content Creator positions qualify for STEM OPT extension only if your degree is in a STEM-designated field like data analytics or information science. Confirm the alignment with your DSO before targeting roles that assume a 36-month timeline.
Target employers with an active EIN and DSO experience
Employers must have a valid EIN and a signed training plan to support your OPT. Smaller agencies and solo operators often lack this infrastructure. Ask HR directly whether they have experience onboarding OPT students before investing time in the process.
Frame your visa status proactively in outreach
Many content teams are unfamiliar with OPT authorization. Lead with your current work eligibility and expected end date rather than waiting for the question. This removes ambiguity early and signals that you understand the administrative requirements on your side.
Build a portfolio that demonstrates measurable impact
Employers weighing OPT paperwork need a clear reason to move forward. A portfolio showing engagement growth, conversion data, or campaign results gives hiring managers concrete evidence your work delivers ROI, making the sponsorship decision easier to justify internally.
Apply at least 90 days before your OPT expires
Content roles at larger companies often have multi-stage hiring processes that run four to eight weeks. Starting your job search at least 90 days before your OPT end date gives you enough runway to clear interviews and begin onboarding before your authorization lapses.
Identify whether the role is freelance or W-2 employment
OPT requires a bona fide employer-employee relationship, which means W-2 employment or qualifying self-employment. Freelance contractor arrangements structured as 1099 engagements generally do not satisfy OPT employment requirements, so clarify the employment structure before accepting an offer.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Do Content Creator jobs qualify for the 24-month STEM OPT extension?
Content Creator roles qualify for STEM OPT only if your underlying degree is in a STEM-designated field, such as data analytics, information technology, or digital media in certain classifications. The job title itself does not determine eligibility. Your DSO confirms whether your specific CIP code qualifies before you pursue roles that require the full 36-month window.
How do I find Content Creator jobs that are open to OPT students?
Migrate Mate lists Content Creator roles from employers who are open to hiring F-1 OPT students. Filtering by work authorization type surfaces positions where hiring managers already understand OPT requirements, which saves time compared to applying broadly and explaining your status from scratch at every company.
Can I work as a freelance Content Creator on OPT?
Self-employment is permitted on OPT under specific conditions. You must be actively running a business, not simply taking contractor assignments, and the work must be directly related to your degree field. Passive 1099 engagements with multiple clients without a formal business structure are unlikely to satisfy USCIS requirements, so consult your DSO before pursuing this path.
What employment documentation do I need for a Content Creator role on OPT?
You need a valid EAD card showing your OPT authorization period, your current I-20 with a DSO endorsement, and your passport. Your employer completes Form I-9 using these documents. If you switch employers, you do not need a new EAD, but you must report the job change to your DSO within 10 days through your SEVIS record.
What happens to my OPT if my Content Creator employer lays me off?
OPT allows a maximum cumulative unemployment period of 90 days for standard OPT, or 150 days across a STEM extension. If your employment ends, that unemployment clock starts immediately. You can continue your job search during this time, but exceeding the limit means your OPT authorization is no longer valid and you must take action to maintain lawful status.
