About the Role
We’re hiring a Growth Associate to help scale the operational backbone of Avoca’s growth engine, with a primary focus on partnerships. This role is responsible for owning and improving the processes that keep partner programs running smoothly — from onboarding and enablement to system accuracy and cross-team coordination.
You will work closely with Partnerships, Revenue Operations, Sales, and Marketing to ensure programs operate with clarity, structure, and reliability. As you build mastery over the operational foundation, you will stretch upward into campaign execution and partner activation initiatives.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys bringing order to complexity, naturally identifies ways to streamline processes, and wants meaningful ownership in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.
What You’ll Do
- Own the operational backbone of partner programs, including onboarding workflows, approvals, and ongoing coordination
- Maintain accurate internal systems of record for partners, campaigns, and lifecycle stages
- Build and continuously improve repeatable processes that increase efficiency and reduce manual work
- Support partner enablement by preparing materials, documentation, and internal resources
- Coordinate scheduling, communications, and logistics across internal teams and external partners
- Assist with referral tracking, attribution accuracy, and CRM data hygiene in collaboration with RevOps
- Stretch into campaign execution and activation initiatives such as webinars, newsletters, and partner programs as capacity grows
What You’ll Bring
- 1–4 years of experience in operations, growth, program coordination, marketing operations, or similar roles in fast-paced environments
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Comfort working with CRMs (HubSpot preferred), spreadsheets, and documentation tools
- A natural inclination toward process improvement and systems thinking
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple workflows simultaneously without losing accuracy
- Comfort operating in evolving, high-ownership environments
Who You Are
- Highly organized and naturally structured in how you approach work
- Proactive in identifying inefficiencies and proposing improvements
- Reliable, consistent, and detail-driven
- Collaborative and communicative across teams
- Energized by ownership and visible impact
- Excited to work in person full-time from our NYC office (non-negotiable)

How to Get Visa Sponsorship as a Growth Associate
Target startups and growth-stage companies
Early-stage companies hire Growth Associates to own experiments across acquisition, retention, and monetization. They move faster on hiring decisions and are often more flexible with OPT timelines than enterprise employers who have rigid HR processes.
Clarify your STEM OPT eligibility early
If your degree is in computer science, statistics, economics, or a quantitative business field, many Growth Associate roles qualify for the 24-month STEM extension. Confirm your CIP code with your DSO before applying to avoid surprises.
Lead with measurable impact in your resume
Growth roles are inherently data-driven. Employers want to see experiment results, conversion lifts, or retention improvements you drove. Vague descriptions of responsibilities will not stand out. Quantify outcomes wherever possible.
Understand your OPT authorization end date before accepting offers
Growth roles often have 90-day ramp periods before you contribute independently. Make sure your remaining OPT window gives the employer enough runway to benefit from hiring you and to file for sponsorship if needed.
Highlight cross-functional collaboration skills
Growth Associates typically work across product, engineering, and marketing teams. Demonstrating that you can translate data findings into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders makes you significantly more competitive for these roles.

Do Growth Associate jobs qualify for STEM OPT extension?
It depends on your degree, not the job title. If you graduated with a STEM-designated degree such as computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, or a quantitative business program, and the role involves substantial data analysis or technical work, it likely qualifies. Confirm the CIP code on your degree with your DSO and review the job description for analytical requirements before applying.
How much OPT time should I have remaining when applying for Growth Associate roles?
Most employers want at least six months of remaining OPT authorization at the time of hire, since growth roles typically have a ramp-up period before you operate independently. If you have fewer than six months remaining, be upfront about your timeline and your STEM extension eligibility, if applicable, so the employer can plan accordingly.
What types of employers hire Growth Associates who need OPT sponsorship?
Technology companies, SaaS startups, fintech firms, and e-commerce businesses hire Growth Associates most frequently and tend to have established processes for supporting OPT and H-1B sponsorship. Companies that rely heavily on user acquisition and retention data are the most likely to treat this role as a technical position. Browse open roles on Migrate Mate to find employers actively hiring OPT-eligible candidates.
Is a Growth Associate role considered a specialty occupation for H-1B purposes?
It can be, but it depends on how the role is scoped. If the position requires a specific bachelor's degree in a relevant field and involves technical analysis, A/B testing frameworks, or product analytics, it has a reasonable case as a specialty occupation. Roles framed around general marketing or communications are harder to support. The job description and your degree alignment both matter significantly.
What should I do if my OPT is expiring and I have not secured sponsorship?
If you have a STEM-eligible degree, apply for the 24-month extension immediately and continue working under the cap-gap provision if your employer files an H-1B petition before your OPT expires. If you are not STEM eligible, explore whether your employer qualifies for O-1 sponsorship or whether a different role within the company offers a stronger visa pathway. Consult your DSO and an immigration attorney as early as possible.
