Pediatric Physician Assistant Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a pediatric physician assistant in Georgia?
To practice as a pediatric physician assistant in Georgia, you must obtain a license from the Georgia Composite Medical Board after completing an accredited master's-level PA program and passing the PANCE exam administered by the NCCPA. Georgia does not issue a separate pediatric subspecialty license, so the standard PA license covers pediatric practice. Most Georgia employers also require current BLS and PALS certification before your start date.
How much do pediatric physician assistants make in Georgia?
Pediatric physician assistants in Georgia earn a median of about $115,390 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,230 for the lowest 10% to over $172,050 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire pediatric physician assistants in Georgia?
Employers hiring pediatric physician assistants in Georgia right now include Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Sound Physicians, and Memorial Health University Medical Center, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Georgia's concentration of large integrated health systems and specialty children's facilities means hiring is consistent throughout the year rather than limited to seasonal surges.
Which Georgia cities have the most pediatric physician assistant jobs?
Atlanta, Savannah, and Georgia have the most pediatric physician assistant openings in Georgia. Atlanta drives the largest share of listings because it is home to major children's health institutions and academic medical centers, while Augusta and Savannah support meaningful volumes through their regional hospital systems and university-affiliated practices that serve broad surrounding populations.
Are there remote pediatric physician assistant jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. Pediatric physician assistant work is fundamentally hands-on and patient-facing, which limits remote options significantly. About 25% of pediatric physician assistant openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions are almost exclusively in pediatric telephonic triage, care coordination, or utilization review rather than direct clinical care.
How can I get hired as a pediatric physician assistant in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to a formal PA postgraduate residency or fellowship with a pediatric focus. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta runs one of the most recognized pediatric PA programs in the Southeast and accepts new graduates. WellStar and Emory Healthcare also hire new graduate PAs into structured onboarding cohorts for outpatient pediatric and urgent care sites. Candidates without clinical pediatric experience can strengthen their application by completing pediatric-heavy clinical rotations during training, obtaining PALS certification early, and targeting general pediatric primary care or urgent care roles before moving into subspecialty settings.
Where can I find and apply to pediatric physician assistant jobs in Georgia?
You can find and apply to pediatric physician assistant jobs in Georgia on Migrate Mate, which lists current Georgia openings across hospital systems, outpatient practices, and specialty clinics. Find roles that fit your experience and specialty interest and apply directly to each employer through the listing.
