Physician Assistant Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a physician assistant job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's largest hiring segments: large health systems anchored in the Southwestern Medical District, the growing urgent care and multispecialty clinic networks in Frisco and Plano, and the expanding outpatient surgery centers in Uptown and Oak Lawn. Candidates with surgical or emergency medicine experience move faster here. Tailoring your application to the specific service line, such as orthopedics or cardiology, gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire physician assistants in Dallas?
Companies currently hiring physician assistants in Dallas include Texas Health Resources, UT Southwestern Medical Center, and Baylor Scott & White Health, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's hiring mix skews toward large academic medical centers, regional hospital groups, and high-volume outpatient practices serving the metropolitan area's fast-growing suburbs.
Are there remote physician assistant jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though remote work is limited for physician assistants because most roles require direct patient contact. About 3% of physician assistant openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting a market where most positions are clinic- or hospital-based. The remote share is highest in telehealth urgent care and utilization review roles, where patient interaction happens through digital platforms rather than in person.
How can I get a physician assistant job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through large health system rotations or new-graduate hiring programs at major hospital networks in the Southwestern Medical District. Urgent care chains expanding into Garland, Mesquite, and Irving frequently hire new graduates and offer mentored first-year structures. Targeting surgical assist or hospitalist roles, where supervision is built into the workflow, gives candidates without independent experience a practical foothold in the local market.
Which industries hire the most physician assistants in Dallas?
Dallas physician assistant roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Non-Profit & Social Services, and Education, based on current listings on MigrateAte as of June 2026. Dallas's rapid population growth, its dense concentration of suburban hospital campuses, and the expansion of corporate-owned specialty clinic chains all drive sustained hiring demand across those sectors.
