Candidates targeting food manufacturing should complete a food handler certification recognized by the Hawaii Department of Health. For defense or aerospace production at facilities near Pearl Harbor, a basic background check clearance is typically required before hiring. Community colleges such as Honolulu CC offer manufacturing and industrial technology certificates that strengthen applications.
Which companies hire production associates in Hawaii?

Hawaii's food processing sector and defense manufacturing corridor near Pearl Harbor and Kapolei consistently generate the largest share of openings.
Which Hawaii cities have the most production associate jobs?
Honolulu, Hilo, and Kahului have the most production associate openings in Hawaii. Honolulu dominates because it hosts the state's largest food processing plants, distribution centers, and defense-adjacent manufacturers, while Pearl City and Kapolei draw openings from industrial park tenants and aerospace subcontractors clustered near Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
Are there remote production associate jobs in Hawaii?
Yes, but they're rare. Production associate work is fundamentally hands-on and tied to a physical line, warehouse, or facility, so most openings require on-site presence.
