Production Associate Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a production associate in Vermont?
Most production associate roles in Vermont require a high school diploma or equivalent and on-the-job training rather than a formal state license. Employers in food manufacturing, such as those operating under Vermont Agency of Agriculture oversight, may require food handler training or GMP certification. Precision manufacturing employers often prefer candidates who have completed a vocational program at a Vermont technical center or community college, such as Vermont Technical College, which offers manufacturing-focused certificates.
Which companies hire production associates in Vermont?
Employers hiring production associates in Vermont right now include Keurig Dr Pepper, Weidmann Tecnologia Eletrica, and Land O'Lakes, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's food manufacturing sector, including dairy and specialty beverage producers, drives a significant share of consistent production associate openings across the state.
Which Vermont cities have the most production associate jobs?
Middlebury, Saint Johnsbury, and Essex Center have the most production associate openings in Vermont. Burlington anchors demand through its concentration of consumer goods manufacturers and distribution operations, while Barre and St. Johnsbury support steady openings tied to regional food processing, granite fabrication, and light industrial facilities that have operated in those communities for decades.
Are there remote production associate jobs in Vermont?
Yes, but they're rare. Production associate work is almost entirely hands-on and facility-based, so most openings require an on-site presence. About 10% of production associate openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to cover administrative or quality documentation functions rather than floor or line work.
How can I get hired as a production associate in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to manufacturers in Vermont's food and beverage sector, which routinely hires candidates with no prior production experience and trains them on-site. Employers such as dairy cooperatives and specialty food producers often start candidates in packaging or sanitation roles that transition into full production associate positions. Completing a short GMP or forklift certification through a Vermont technical center strengthens an application noticeably, and temporary staffing agencies that place workers in Vermont manufacturing facilities are a common way to get a first placement.
Where can I find and apply to production associate jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to production associate jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
