Production Technician Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a production technician in Florida?
Most production technician roles in Florida are accessible with a high school diploma or GED plus a vocational certificate or associate degree from a Florida College System institution such as Valencia College, Broward College, or Hillsborough Community College. Programs in industrial technology, manufacturing operations, or electronics technology are the most direct path. Completing an OSHA safety course and earning a forklift or equipment operator certification strengthens a candidate's profile significantly before applying.
Which companies hire production technicians in Florida?
Employers hiring production technicians in Florida right now include NextEra Energy, CEMEX, and Teledyne FLIR, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's aerospace corridor along the Space Coast and its concentration of pharmaceutical and food manufacturing plants mean production technician hiring is distributed across the state rather than limited to a single metro.
Which Florida cities have the most production technician jobs?
Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Fort Lauderdale have the most production technician openings in Florida. Tampa's large logistics and food processing base, Orlando's aerospace and defense manufacturing presence, and Jacksonville's industrial port operations all generate consistent demand, while smaller markets like Brevard County benefit from Space Coast employers such as Boeing and Northrop Grumman driving steady local hiring.
Are there remote production technician jobs in Florida?
Yes, but they're rare. About 10% of production technician openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how hands-on and equipment-dependent the role is by nature. The tasks most likely to shift remote or hybrid are documentation review, quality reporting, and process monitoring for facilities that use connected equipment dashboards.
How can I get hired as a production technician in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a production associate or manufacturing line operator role at a large Florida facility, then moving into a technician title after demonstrating reliability and mechanical aptitude. Companies such as Lockheed Martin and Anheuser-Busch InBev run structured onboarding for entry-level production hires at their Florida plants. Completing a certificate program through a Florida College System school and earning an OSHA 10 card before applying gives candidates a concrete edge over others without prior experience.
Where can I find and apply to production technician jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to production technician jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across industries including aerospace, pharmaceuticals, food processing, and electronics. Find the roles that fit your experience and location and apply directly to each one.
