General Position Summary:
LCOOU seeks an experienced academic leader to direct its Human Services program through a period of significant growth. The Program Director will lead a redesign of the Bachelor's and Master's in Human Services degree program, the program's accreditation self-study, and the management of licensure applications, including the program's candidacy application to the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). This role is central to building a program that prepares Anishinaabe and other students to serve tribal and rural communities.
This is a one-year, grant-funded position. Continued employment beyond the grant period depends on the availability of funding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the redesign of the Human Services curriculum, aligning courses, learning outcomes, and assessment with accreditation standards and community needs
- Direct the accreditation self-study, including gathering evidence, writing narrative sections, and coordinating site visits
- Manage the CSWE candidacy application and related licensure applications, meeting all deadlines and reporting requirem
- Work closely with the Program Coordinator/Staff Assistant, faculty, advisors, and field placement partners
- Build and maintain partnerships with tribal, county, and state human services agencies for field education and career pathways
- Integrate Ojibwe culture, values, and community perspectives into program design
- Manage the program's grant budget, track outcomes, and prepare reports for the funder and university leadership
- Teach courses in the program as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
- Minimum three years of post-master's experience in social work or human services practice
- Experience in higher education administration, program development, or curriculum design
- Working knowledge of accreditation processes, including CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards
- Strong writing, organizational, and project management skills
- Wisconsin social work licensure or eligibility for licensure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate in social work or a related field
- Experience leading an accreditation self-study or CSWE candidacy process
- Experience working with tribal communities, tribal colleges, or Indigenous-serving programs
Work Environment:
- Office, classroom, and campus facilities environment
- May require travel to Outreach Sites and external meetings
Reportability:
- Reports to Dean of Academic Affairs
