Program Supervisor Jobs in Idaho: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a program supervisor in Idaho?
Most program supervisor roles in Idaho require a bachelor's degree in social work, public administration, or a related field, with a master's preferred for behavioral health programs. If your role involves clinical oversight, Idaho requires licensure through the Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses, such as an LCSW or LPC. Employers in state-contracted programs also look for experience managing staff under Idaho Department of Health and Welfare guidelines and familiarity with Idaho's Adult Mental Health and children's services frameworks.
Which companies hire program supervisors in Idaho?
Idaho program supervisor roles are posted by Micron Technology, University of Idaho, and State of Idaho and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Idaho's largest employers in this category tend to be state agencies, regional health systems, and nonprofit service organizations with long-standing contracts through the Department of Health and Welfare.
Which Idaho cities have the most program supervisor jobs?
Boise, Moscow, and Pocatello consistently post the most program supervisor openings in Idaho. Boise dominates as the state capital and home to major health systems and state agency headquarters, while Nampa's growth in community health and social services drives demand in the Treasure Valley, and Idaho Falls anchors eastern Idaho's regional nonprofit and public sector hiring.
Are there remote program supervisor jobs in Idaho?
Yes, but they're limited. Program supervisor work in Idaho is predominantly in-person because the role typically involves direct oversight of staff, facility compliance, and community-based service delivery. About 16% of program supervisor openings tied to Idaho are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and the portions most likely to allow remote work involve grant writing, data reporting, and administrative coordination rather than direct program oversight.
How can I get hired as a program supervisor in Idaho with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into supervision from a senior direct-service role such as case manager, residential counselor, or outreach coordinator at an Idaho nonprofit or state-contracted agency. Organizations like Volunteers of America Idaho and the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare regional offices regularly hire lead workers who grow into supervisory positions. Earning an Idaho-recognized human services credential or completing a supervisory skills course through Idaho State University or Boise State strengthens a candidate's profile considerably.
Where can I find and apply to program supervisor jobs in Idaho?
You can find and apply to program supervisor jobs in Idaho on Migrate Mate, which lists current Idaho openings across human services, behavioral health, and public sector employers. Find roles that match your background and apply directly to each employer without needing to create a profile or sign up first.
