The opportunity
We are looking for an energetic, highly adaptable leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, embraces change, and can successfully drive multiple complex initiatives forward simultaneously. The ideal candidate is energized by variety, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and excels at bringing structure, momentum, and results to strategic business priorities. In this prominent role, you will partner with leaders across the organization to advance transformational initiatives that shape the future of our business. You will operate at the center of competing priorities, connecting people, processes, and ideas while ensuring projects remain aligned, actionable, and moving toward successful outcomes.
Success in this role requires exceptional relationship-building, organizational agility, and the ability to influence without authority. You must be comfortable shifting between strategic planning and tactical execution, identifying risks before they become obstacles, and maintaining momentum across a diverse portfolio of initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Lead multiple strategic projects and transformational initiatives simultaneously, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a relentless focus on outcomes.
- Partner with leaders and cross-functional teams to define objectives, align stakeholders, remove barriers, and drive execution.
- Bring clarity and structure to complex, evolving initiatives and rapidly changing business needs.
- Build strong working relationships across departments, fostering collaboration, accountability, and shared ownership of results.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities, developing practical solutions that keep initiatives moving forward.
- Drive progress through influence, communication, and stakeholder engagement rather than direct authority.
- Adapt quickly to changing priorities while maintaining focus, organization, and execution discipline.
- Develop and maintain project plans, roadmaps, milestones, and governance practices that support successful delivery.
- Monitor performance, communicate project health, and provide executive-ready updates, recommendations, and decision support.
- Champion change management efforts that help teams successfully adopt new processes, capabilities, and ways of working.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
- Energized by managing a varied portfolio of initiatives rather than focusing on a single project.
- Thrives in a dynamic, fast-moving environment where priorities evolve and new opportunities emerge.
- Confident working with senior leaders and influencing across all levels of the organization.
- Naturally curious, proactive, and solutions-oriented.
- Exceptional at organizing complexity and driving action across multiple workstreams.
- Comfortable making progress amid ambiguity and helping others navigate change.
- Passionate about transformation, innovation, continuous improvement, and delivering business results.
The expertise you bring
- Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent work experience required
- At least 10 years of IT, Insurance and/or project management experience. Project Management professional certification desirable, but not required
- Prior management, supervisory or team leader experience helpful

Project Consultant Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project consultant in Massachusetts?
Most project consultant roles in Massachusetts require a bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline, followed by several years of progressively responsible project or program work. Massachusetts does not issue a state-specific license for project consultants, but the Project Management Professional credential from PMI is widely recognized by Massachusetts employers as the professional standard and is frequently listed as required or preferred in postings.
Which companies hire project consultants in Massachusetts?
Companies currently hiring project consultants in Massachusetts include Westinghouse Electric Company, Deloitte, and Cognizant, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of consulting firms, healthcare systems, financial institutions, and technology companies means steady year-round demand for project consultants at multiple seniority levels.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most project consultant jobs?
Boston, Massachusetts, and Norwell have the most project consultant openings in Massachusetts. Boston and Cambridge drive the largest share because of their dense concentration of management consulting firms, academic medical centers, and financial services headquarters, while Worcester draws demand from its growing healthcare and biotechnology employers.
Are there remote project consultant jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 83% of project consultant openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves documentation, analysis, and virtual stakeholder coordination. Client-facing implementation phases that require on-site presence are more likely to be listed as hybrid rather than fully remote.
How can I get hired as a project consultant in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a junior project coordinator or associate consultant role, which large Massachusetts employers such as Deloitte, Accenture, and major health systems like Partners HealthCare hire for through new-graduate programs and rotational associate tracks. Candidates from business analysis, operations coordination, or program administration backgrounds often transition successfully. Earning a CAPM credential from PMI and building a portfolio of documented project work strengthens any application.
Where can I find and apply to project consultant jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to project consultant jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers hiring in the state. Search the roles that fit your experience level and specialty, then apply directly to the ones that match.
