Pratt & Whitney is seeking a proactive, goal oriented, and detail focused Principal Project Engineer to lead a large and highly visible Rotors Integrated Product Team in Compression Systems Engineering. The selected candidate will provide leadership to the Fan Module team for Advanced Military Engines. In this role you will be responsible for program task execution.

What You Will Do

• Coordinate and lead a team as IPTL to meet task and technical requirements; work closely with team members and authorities on component development and recommend product improvements for cost and producibility.
• Communicate status and technical content to CIPT and upper Pratt & Whitney management.
• Perform Control Account Manager duties for task: Track progress, identify and resolve obstacles to minimize disruption to project budget and schedules to ensure smooth project operations.
• Integrate and manage part-level industrial activities with procurement, manufacturing, and quality team members and the internal/external supply chain; also coordinate timely creation/release of product definition
• Perform risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans as well as actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement
• Travel up to 10%

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of relevant experience OR equivalent OR
• Advanced Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of experience
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Demonstrated strong team and strategic leadership skills.
• Demonstrated exceptional customer focus.
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, and engineering presentations to all levels of management.
• Aerospace/ jet engine industry experience, previous gas turbine compressor experience and design development experience is highly desirable
• Experience with gas turbine engine rotating hardware
• Experience in a team leader role or similar task leadership position
• Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, MS Project
• Thorough understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), Quality Control Process Charts (QCPC) Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (e.g. Systems Applications and Products (SAP), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Teamcenter).
• Demonstration of skills consistent with the Pratt & Whitney Leadership Operating Model.
• Ability to contribute to Engineering Knowledge System (EKS) content.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans, low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
