Project Executive Jobs in Vermont: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a project executive in Vermont?
Most project executives in Vermont reach the role by combining a bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or business administration with progressive project leadership experience. Vermont does not issue a state-specific project executive license, but employers widely expect PMP certification from the Project Management Institute. Candidates targeting construction roles often hold LEED credentials valued by Vermont's strong green-building sector. Building a record on mid-size Vermont capital or infrastructure projects is the most direct path upward.
Which companies hire project executives in Vermont?
Vermont project executive roles are posted by Toast, State of Vermont, and LPI and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Vermont's mix of large healthcare networks, state agency capital programs, and regional construction firms means openings appear across multiple sectors throughout the year.
Which Vermont cities have the most project executive jobs?
Burlington, Vermont, and Montpelier account for the greatest share of project executive openings in Vermont. Burlington dominates because it is home to UVM Health Network, the state's largest employer, along with regional construction and technology firms, while Montpelier and Rutland generate demand through state government capital projects and established regional contractors operating from those markets.
Are there remote project executive jobs in Vermont?
Yes, but they're less common than in purely desk-based fields, since project executives often oversee on-site teams and contractor coordination. About 38% of project executive openings tied to Vermont are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with most flexibility found in IT program management and strategic planning roles rather than construction or facilities delivery positions.
How can I get hired as a project executive in Vermont with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a project coordinator or assistant project manager role at a Vermont construction firm, healthcare system, or state agency and building from there. UVM Health Network and the Vermont Agency of Transportation both hire entry-level project staff and offer structured mentorship into senior roles. Earning a PMP certification early and completing Vermont-based infrastructure or capital projects in those junior roles builds the portfolio employers expect before promoting to the executive level.
Where can I find and apply to project executive jobs in Vermont?
You can find and apply to project executive jobs in Vermont on Migrate Mate, which lists current Vermont openings updated regularly. Search the roles available, identify the ones that match your background and target industry, and apply directly to each posting that fits your experience and goals.
