Project Manager Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a project manager job in Dallas?
The strongest hiring in Dallas comes from technology firms in the Urban Center, health systems like UT Southwestern and Parkland, construction and engineering companies serving the DFW growth corridor, and financial services companies based in Uptown. Candidates who hold a PMP certification or Agile credentials stand out in this market. Tailoring your application to the sector, whether IT delivery, capital projects, or operations, gives you a clear edge over generalist applicants.
Which companies hire project managers in Dallas?
Employers hiring project managers in Dallas right now include Burns & McDonnell, HDR, and Turner & Townsend Pty Limited, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas draws a mix of Fortune 500 corporate headquarters, large regional health systems, and major construction and infrastructure firms, all of which maintain ongoing project management teams.
Are there remote project manager jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though it depends heavily on the type of work. Desk-based roles in IT, software delivery, and financial operations lend themselves to remote or hybrid arrangements, while construction, facilities, and on-site operational roles typically require a physical presence. About 14% of project manager openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the highest concentration of flexible roles in technology and business transformation.
How can I get a project manager job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is moving laterally from a coordinator or analyst role within a large employer, particularly in healthcare administration, construction, or corporate IT. UT Southwestern, Parkland Health, and large general contractors in the DFW area regularly hire project coordinators as a stepping stone. Earning a CAPM certification and volunteering to lead internal initiatives builds the documented experience Dallas hiring managers look for before promoting to a full project manager title.
Which industries hire the most project managers in Dallas?
Dallas project manager roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Construction & Real Estate, and Manufacturing, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's role as a major corporate relocation destination, combined with rapid population growth driving construction and healthcare expansion, keeps demand across these sectors consistently high.
