JOB DETAILS

We are hiring a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner / PMHNP to provide psychiatric consultations and patient visits in a hospital-based setting in West Hartford, CT. This role is ideal for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric APRN, PMHNP-BC, or Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner who enjoys consult-based psychiatry, medication management, and working closely with interdisciplinary hospital teams.

Responsibilities include:

- Provide psychiatric evaluations and behavioral health consultations
- Complete hospital-based psychiatric consults and follow-up visits
- Assess adult and/or geriatric patients with behavioral health needs
- Manage psychiatric medications and treatment recommendations
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and care teams
- Support crisis intervention, treatment planning, and care coordination
- Document visits, assessments, and clinical recommendations in the EMR
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered psychiatric care

QUALIFICATIONS

- Active Connecticut APRN license
- PMHNP certification strongly preferred
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner experience
- Hospital, inpatient, consult-liaison, adult psychiatry, or geriatric psychiatry experience preferred
- Strong medication management and psychiatric assessment skills
- DEA and controlled substance prescribing ability preferred
- Comfortable working in a hospital-based interdisciplinary setting
