Evergreene Homes is expanding operations to add an additional position for Purchasing Manager to join our team in Northern Virginia. This position will be responsible for managing purchasing functions for our residential homebuilding operations,
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential homebuilding professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and wants to play an important role in the continued growth and success of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Manage purchasing activities for residential homebuilding projects from plan development through construction.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with trade contractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate pricing with trade partners and suppliers.
- Prepare and maintain scopes of work, bid packages, purchase orders, and vendor agreements.
- Review plans, specifications and architectural documents to identify purchasing requirements and opportunities for cost savings.
- Obtain and analyze competitive bids while maintaining quality and construction standards.
- Monitor construction costs and identify opportunities for value engineering and cost reduction.
- Maintain accurate pricing, budgets, and purchasing information.
- Work closely with Construction, Land Acquisition, Sales, and Operations to ensure purchasing decisions support overall company objectives.
- Monitor vendor and trade partner performance, including pricing, quality, scheduling, and responsiveness.
- Assist with establishing and maintaining standardized specifications and purchasing practices.
- Stay informed regarding construction material costs, labor conditions, and market trends affecting residential construction.
- Perform other purchasing and construction-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in residential homebuilding.
- Strong understanding of residential construction processes, materials, and trade scopes.
- Experience negotiating with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to review construction plans, specifications, and scopes of work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and utilize company software and systems.
- Ability to work effectively with Construction, Sales, Land, and other departments.
- Bachelor's degree (or working equivalent) in Construction Management, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience
