Quality Assurance Analyst Jobs in Colorado: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance analyst in Colorado?
Most Colorado employers require a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, though associate degrees paired with relevant certifications are accepted at many entry-level roles. Colorado does not issue a state license for quality assurance analysts, but industry certifications such as the ASQ Certified Quality Auditor or ISTQB Foundation Level are widely expected. Candidates targeting aerospace or medical device employers in Colorado often benefit from familiarity with AS9100 or FDA quality system regulations before applying.
How much do quality assurance analysts make in Colorado?
Quality assurance analysts in Colorado earn a median of about $123,690 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,780 for the lowest 10% to over $172,930 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality assurance analysts in Colorado?
Employers hiring quality assurance analysts in Colorado right now include CoorsTek, AECOM, and Orion Steel, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Colorado's concentration of aerospace primes, medical device manufacturers, and software companies means hiring is distributed across both large defense contractors along the Front Range and growing tech firms in the Denver and Boulder metro areas.
Which Colorado cities have the most quality assurance analyst jobs?
Denver, Aurora, and Boulder post the most quality assurance analyst openings in Colorado. Denver anchors the market through its dense technology and healthcare employer base, Colorado Springs draws heavy demand from aerospace and defense contractors clustered around military installations, and Boulder's biotech and software sector drives consistent openings in that corridor.
Are there remote quality assurance analyst jobs in Colorado?
Yes, and more than most fields, because software QA and test automation work is well suited to remote delivery. About 44% of quality assurance analyst openings tied to Colorado are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves digital tools, test environments, and documentation rather than on-site hardware. Roles in medical device validation and aerospace compliance tend to require more on-site presence due to regulated environments.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance analyst in Colorado with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving from a related role such as software tester, technical support specialist, or junior developer into a QA analyst position at a Colorado technology or healthcare company. Large Colorado employers in the Denver tech corridor often post associate QA or QA technician roles that do not require prior formal QA experience. Earning the ISTQB Foundation Level certification before applying gives candidates a clear edge, and building a portfolio of documented test cases through open-source projects or bootcamp coursework addresses the experience gap effectively.
