Quality Assurance Lead Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance lead in Texas?
Most quality assurance lead roles in Texas require a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing technology, or a related field, followed by several years of hands-on QA experience in a regulated industry. Texas does not issue a state license specific to quality assurance leads, but employers in industries like medical devices and aerospace expect certifications such as the ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Manager of Quality. Building experience in Texas's strong manufacturing and tech sectors is the most direct path.
How much do quality assurance leads make in Texas?
Quality assurance leads in Texas earn a median of about $101,850 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $59,010 for the lowest 10% to over $153,380 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quality assurance leads in Texas?
Employers hiring quality assurance leads in Texas right now include Tesla, Texas Health and Human Services Commission, and SGS, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Texas's concentration of semiconductor, aerospace, and medical device manufacturers means demand is steady across both large corporate campuses and regional production facilities.
Which Texas cities have the most quality assurance lead jobs?
Houston, Austin, and Dallas have the most quality assurance lead openings in Texas. Dallas-Fort Worth draws the largest share thanks to its density of electronics manufacturers, defense contractors, and corporate headquarters, while Houston's energy and medical device industries fuel consistent hiring, and Austin's growing semiconductor and consumer tech presence has added significant demand in recent years.
Are there remote quality assurance lead jobs in Texas?
Yes, but they're limited, because quality assurance lead work often requires physical presence on a production floor or in a lab. About 30% of quality assurance lead openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting that hands-on inspection and team supervision rarely transfer fully to remote arrangements. The portions of the role most amenable to remote work are documentation review, supplier audits conducted virtually, and quality management system administration.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance lead in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a quality technician or quality inspector at one of Texas's large manufacturers, such as those in the DFW aerospace corridor or Austin's semiconductor fabs, and building toward a lead role from within. Many Texas facilities in regulated industries run structured development programs for quality staff. Earning an ASQ Certified Quality Inspector credential before applying strengthens your profile considerably and signals readiness for more responsibility without prior leadership experience.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance lead jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to quality assurance lead jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
