Quality Assurance Specialist Jobs in Washington: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quality assurance specialist in Washington?
Most quality assurance specialist roles in Washington require a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, life sciences, or a closely related field. Washington does not issue a state-specific license for general QA work, but industry certifications such as Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor from the American Society for Quality are widely recognized by Washington employers. In regulated sectors like aerospace or medical devices, familiarity with AS9100 or FDA quality system regulations is expected before you are considered competitive.
Which companies hire quality assurance specialists in Washington?
Employers hiring quality assurance specialists in Washington right now include Amazon, B.E. Meyers, and Blue Origin, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Washington's aerospace, software, and medical technology industries mean hiring is spread across both large anchor employers and the many mid-size contractors and suppliers that support them throughout the Puget Sound region.
Which Washington cities have the most quality assurance specialist jobs?
Seattle, Redmond, and Spokane have the most quality assurance specialist openings in Washington. Seattle and Bellevue drive the bulk of listings through their concentration of software companies, cloud platforms, and biotech employers, while Redmond's large tech campuses and the Eastside's aerospace and defense contractors contribute a steady share of openings outside the city core.
Are there remote quality assurance specialist jobs in Washington?
Yes, and more than most technical fields. About 21% of quality assurance specialist openings tied to Washington are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, reflecting how much of the role involves documentation, test case management, and software validation work that translates naturally to off-site arrangements. Roles focused on physical product inspection, manufacturing floor audits, or lab-based validation tend to require on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a quality assurance specialist in Washington with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a junior QA analyst or software tester role at a mid-size Washington tech or SaaS company, where the bar for prior experience is lower than at large enterprises. Roles like manual software tester, QA coordinator, or quality control technician in food or manufacturing serve as common lateral moves. Building a portfolio of documented test cases or contributing to open-source testing projects strengthens an application meaningfully. An American Society for Quality entry-level credential or a relevant internship with a Puget Sound technology or aerospace employer adds further credibility for candidates without formal QA experience.
Where can I find and apply to quality assurance specialist jobs in Washington?
You can find and apply to quality assurance specialist jobs in Washington on Migrate Mate, which lists current Washington openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your background and experience level and apply directly to each one.
