Quality Specialist/Quality Technician – New Facility Start‑Up (Onsite) Location: Chesterfield County, SC

Position Overview

We are seeking a Quality Specialist/Quality Technician to support the launch, commissioning, and ongoing operation of a new production facility. This role is ideal for a hands‑on, detail‑driven quality professional who excels in start‑up environments.

During the construction and commissioning phase, the position will operate with a hybrid schedule, with multiple onsite visits each week—or more frequently as needed—to monitor progress, verify installation quality, and support readiness for operational testing. Travel will be required in the early phase to complete training at existing company locations in Maryland. This typically involves one trip, with the possibility of a brief follow‑up visit if needed. When the new facility is fully operational, this role transitions into a full‑time onsite position overseeing product testing, compliance, documentation and continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead quality efforts during facility start-up, ensuring equipment, processes, and workflows comply with regulatory, customer, and internal standards.

• Complete regular onsite walkthroughs to stay familiar with construction progress and note how installations are coming together. Share photos or short video updates with management so they can easily follow the project’s progress and stay aware of anything that may affect timelines or quality.
• Work closely under the Senior Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Control to learn company standards, support daily quality activities, and ensure alignment with established practices.
• Coordinate with the management teams to ensure quality considerations are integrated throughout the build.
• Implement existing company quality policies, procedures, and testing protocols, adapting them only where necessary, after internal review, to meet the unique requirements of the new facility.

· Conduct onsite product testing and process verification once the facility is operational.

• Maintain and enforce SQF, HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory compliance from day one.
• Monitor performance metrics, drive corrective actions, and champion continuous improvement.
• Serve as the primary liaison for audits, inspections, and customer quality inquiries at the facility.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Management, or related field (preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality control within manufacturing or food production.
• Strong knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMPs, and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work independently, manage remote tasks, and transition into a full‑time onsite role.
• Willingness and ability to travel for training during the early phase.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and cross‑functional collaboration skills. Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills are required.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
