Relationship Manager Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a relationship manager in Delaware?
Most relationship manager roles in Delaware require a bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field, followed by experience in banking, sales, or client services. Delaware has no single state license specific to the relationship manager title, but roles tied to investment products require FINRA licenses such as the Series 7 and Series 66, obtained through registered firms. Starting as a personal banker or financial services representative at a Delaware bank or credit union is a common path.
Which companies hire relationship managers in Delaware?
Companies currently hiring relationship managers in Delaware include M&T Bank, Citizens, and Fulton Bank, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's dense concentration of financial services headquarters and regional banking operations means openings appear across both large national institutions and community banks chartered in the state.
Which Delaware cities have the most relationship manager jobs?
Wilmington, Greenville, and Lewes account for the largest share of relationship manager openings in Delaware. Wilmington drives the bulk of demand as the state's financial services center, home to major bank headquarters and corporate trust operations, while Newark and Dover draw from healthcare systems, state government contractors, and retail banking branches serving their surrounding communities.
Are there remote relationship manager jobs in Delaware?
Yes, but they're uncommon. Relationship management is fundamentally a client-facing role, so most employers expect regular in-person contact with their portfolio clients. About 14% of relationship manager openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with hybrid arrangements more available in corporate or middle-market banking roles than in consumer or small-business banking positions.
How can I get hired as a relationship manager in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is a personal banker or retail branch associate role at a Delaware-based bank or credit union, where you build client-facing skills and product knowledge before transitioning into a full relationship manager position. Institutions like Delaware's credit unions and regional community banks often promote from within. Pursuing a FINRA Series 6 license early and gaining experience in loan origination, deposit growth, or small-business services gives candidates a measurable edge in competitive applicant pools.
Where can I find and apply to relationship manager jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to relationship manager jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings from employers across the state. Search the roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match your experience level and preferred location.
