BrightShift Renewables is seeking an experienced and highly connected Business Development Professional to help expand our client base and originate new project opportunities across the energy, infrastructure, and real estate sectors.
BrightShift is a power-first infrastructure and development platform that combines advanced GIS and power intelligence with practical experience in project origination, site selection, utility strategy, interconnection, engineering, permitting, development diligence, and investor-ready project execution.
The selected professional will be responsible for introducing our firm and selling our GIS intelligence, development, engineering, and advisory services to developers, investors, landowners, utilities, infrastructure companies, and other qualified industry participants.
Primary Responsibilities
- Originate new clients, projects, partnerships, and revenue opportunities for BrightShift Renewables.
- Promote and sell our GIS intelligence, power intelligence, site-selection, feasibility, and development services.
- Identify organizations that require assistance locating power-ready and development-ready sites.
- Build relationships with project developers, data-center operators, renewable-energy companies, real estate groups, investors, utilities, EPC firms, and infrastructure owners.
- Generate qualified opportunities involving utility-scale solar, BESS, wind, data centers, power infrastructure, and strategic real estate.
- Introduce BrightShift to decision-makers and coordinate qualified client meetings.
- Understand prospective clients’ needs and position the appropriate BrightShift services and solutions.
- Support proposal development, commercial discussions, relationship management, and opportunity advancement through contract execution.
- Maintain an active pipeline of prospective clients, projects, and strategic partners.
- Work closely with BrightShift’s executive, engineering, development, and GIS teams to convert qualified opportunities into successful engagements.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Candidates must have prior business-development, sales, origination, or relationship-management experience involving one or more of the following:
- Energy and power infrastructure
- GIS, geospatial intelligence, or site-selection services
- Utility-scale renewable-energy projects
- Battery Energy Storage Systems
- Data centers and digital infrastructure
- Real estate and infrastructure development
- Utility interconnection, transmission, or grid-related services
The ideal candidate will already have an established professional network and direct relationships with developers, investors, data-center companies, renewable-energy firms, real estate organizations, utilities, landowners, or other industry decision-makers.
We are looking for a self-motivated professional who understands consultative selling, can independently originate credible opportunities, and knows how to build long-term relationships, and not someone focused solely on sending cold emails or unqualified leads.
To be considered, please send BrightShift Renewables a direct message with your résumé, relevant industry experience, existing areas of connectivity, and examples of projects, clients, or opportunities you have previously originated.
This is an independent, commission-based opportunity and does not include a fixed salary. BrightShift offers a highly competitive success-fee structure, significant earning potential, and no predetermined cap on the success-fee percentage available for qualified opportunities.

Tips for Your Remote Business Development Professional Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote business development professional openings from across the U.S. in one place. Search roles by fit and apply directly as soon as they post. Remote positions attract high applicant volume, so early applications consistently get more attention.
Show your async communication skills upfront
Remote business development employers screen hard for written communication because most deal-making happens over email and messaging tools. Your cover letter and outreach samples are your first audition. Write concisely, lead with value, and make every sentence do work.
Highlight CRM and pipeline management experience
Remote business development teams run on CRM data. Call out the platforms you've used, the pipeline stages you managed, and the outreach volumes you hit. Employers hiring remotely need to trust your ability to track and advance deals without direct oversight.
Prove self-direction with a documented outreach record
Remote hiring managers want evidence you can generate activity without a manager prompting you. Bring concrete examples of prospecting campaigns you ran independently, the tools you used, and the outcomes you drove. Specifics close the credibility gap faster than general claims.
Remote Business Development Professional Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote business development professional job?
Remote business development professional roles go to candidates who can demonstrate self-direction, strong written communication, and the ability to build pipelines without in-person access to prospects. Remote-first SaaS companies and distributed sales teams are the most consistent hirers. Showing CRM proficiency, an async-friendly communication style, and a record of closing deals independently gives you a clear edge over candidates who rely on office-based support.
Which companies hire remote business development professionals?
Companies hiring remote business development professionals right now include Smartsheet, Avenir, and Cleaning by Design, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first technology companies, distributed SaaS platforms, and fintech firms make up the largest share of consistent hirers for this role.
Can you get a remote business development professional job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level business development roles are harder to land because employers expect you to work independently from day one without on-site coaching. Your best entry paths are remote SDR roles at early-stage startups, contract business development projects, or roles that let you show outreach results and CRM activity. Documented outbound work, even from a side project, carries real weight with remote hiring managers.
Do you need a degree for remote business development professional jobs?
Not always. Remote employers hiring business development professionals weigh demonstrated results, pipeline management skills, and written communication ability heavily alongside or instead of a degree. A strong record of hitting outreach targets, closing partnerships, or growing accounts in a remote setting often matters more than your educational background to distributed hiring teams.
Which industries hire the most remote business development professionals?
Most remote business development professional openings sit in Technology & Software, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These sectors rely on distributed teams and digital-first sales motions, making remote business development professionals a natural fit for their go-to-market structures.
