Tips for Your Remote Clinical Psychologist Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote clinical psychologist openings from across the U.S. in one place. Check it regularly, find roles that match your licensure and experience level, and apply directly without having to cross-reference multiple sources.
List every state license you hold
Remote clinical psychologist employers hire across state lines, so each active license you hold expands the pool of patients and employers available to you. Put every license with its number and status in a dedicated section at the top of your resume.
Demonstrate your telehealth platform experience
Name the specific video and EHR platforms you have used clinically, such as Zoom for Healthcare, SimplePractice, or Valant, in both your resume and cover letter. Remote employers screen for day-one readiness on the tools their clinical team already uses.
Show async communication skills clearly
Remote clinical roles depend on clear written documentation, timely chart notes, and organized electronic communication with care coordinators. Include examples of your written clinical work or describe your documentation practices in your cover letter to signal you can operate independently in a distributed team.
Prepare for a video-based clinical interview
Remote employers conduct interviews entirely on video and often use the process itself to assess how you present on screen. Treat the interview camera as your first session with a new care team, keep your background clean and professional, and practice answering scenario-based clinical questions without long pauses.
Remote Clinical Psychologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote clinical psychologist job?
Target employers who have built remote clinical delivery into their core model, such as telehealth platforms, digital mental health companies, and employee assistance program providers. Remote hiring managers screen for comfort with asynchronous documentation, written case communication, and self-directed caseload management. Holding licensure in multiple states and demonstrating experience with video-based therapy gives candidates a clear edge over applicants who are new to remote clinical work.
Which companies hire remote clinical psychologists?
Companies hiring remote clinical psychologists right now include Brightside Health, NOCD, and Ellie Mental Health, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Remote openings tend to concentrate at telehealth platforms, managed behavioral health organizations, and distributed employee assistance program providers that staff licensed clinicians entirely off-site.
Can you get a remote clinical psychologist job with no experience?
Yes, but entry-level remote clinical roles are harder to land because employers expect you to manage a caseload and handle clinical judgment calls without in-person supervision nearby. Telehealth training programs, supervised practicum hours completed via video platform, and documented experience with electronic health records can substitute for years of post-licensure work and help open doors at remote-first behavioral health organizations.
Do you need a degree for remote clinical psychologist jobs?
Usually, yes. Clinical psychologist roles require a doctoral degree and state licensure regardless of whether the work is remote. Remote employers weigh your licensure standing, the states you are authorized to practice in, and your hands-on experience with telehealth platforms alongside your academic credentials, so multi-state licensure and video therapy experience carry real weight in hiring decisions.
Which industries hire the most remote clinical psychologists?
Most remote clinical psychologist openings sit in Healthcare & Medical Services, Consulting & Professional Services, and Education, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Those sectors hire clinical psychologists remotely because their distributed workforce models require licensed mental health professionals who can deliver care and consultation entirely through digital channels.
