Becoming a research assistant professor in Nevada requires a completed doctoral degree in your field, as no state-issued license applies to this academic research role. Nevada institutions, particularly within the Nevada System of Higher Education, typically require candidates to have postdoctoral experience or equivalent independent research output. Applicants should be prepared to present a research statement, sample publications, and a plan for pursuing external funding through federal agencies or Nevada-based research foundations.
Which companies hire research assistant professors in Nevada?
Nevada research assistant professor roles are posted by University of Nevada, Las Vegas, Renown Health, and Truckee Meadows Community College and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Nevada's research universities, federally affiliated institutes, and medical school affiliates are the most consistent sources of these positions across the state.
Which Nevada cities have the most research assistant professor jobs?
Las Vegas, Reno, and Henderson have the most research assistant professor openings in Nevada. Reno leads because of the University of Nevada, Reno and the Desert Research Institute, while Las Vegas concentrates hiring around UNLV's growing medical school and public health programs, and Henderson reflects demand from nearby healthcare systems and research affiliates.
