Research Jobs in Buffalo: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a research job in Buffalo?
Buffalo's strongest hiring for research professionals comes from its healthcare and medical research institutions, universities, and life sciences companies clustered around the Medical Corridor and University District. Candidates who emphasize laboratory, clinical, or data analysis experience tied to those sectors stand out. Familiarity with the local academic-medical ecosystem and connections built through Buffalo's research institutions give applicants a real edge over generalist candidates.
Which companies hire researchs in Buffalo?
Companies currently hiring researchs in Buffalo include University at Buffalo, University at Buffalo - SUNY, and ACV Auctions, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Buffalo's research employer base is anchored by hospital systems, university-affiliated labs, and biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms operating within and around the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus corridor.
Are there remote research jobs in Buffalo?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on role type: hands-on lab and clinical research positions require on-site presence, while data analysis, literature review, and policy research roles are far more remote-compatible. About 0% of research openings tied to Buffalo are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with desk-based and analytical positions accounting for the majority of those flexible arrangements.
How can I get a research job in Buffalo with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Buffalo is through research assistant or study coordinator roles at the medical campus institutions and university-affiliated programs in the University District. Buffalo's hospital networks and state university campuses regularly hire entry-level candidates for data collection, participant coordination, and lab support. Volunteering or interning with a local research lab or clinical trial site before applying full-time builds the hands-on record Buffalo hiring managers look for.
