Risk Compliance Analyst Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a risk compliance analyst in New Jersey?
Most risk compliance analyst roles in New Jersey require a bachelor's degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related field, and there is no state-issued license specific to this title. Employers in New Jersey's financial services and pharmaceutical sectors strongly favor candidates who hold certifications such as the Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager or Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional. Building experience through internal audit, legal, or quality assurance roles is the most common New Jersey entry path.
How much do risk compliance analysts make in New Jersey?
Risk compliance analysts in New Jersey earn a median of about $100,000 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,860 for the lowest 10% to over $158,540 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire risk compliance analysts in New Jersey?
Employers hiring risk compliance analysts in New Jersey right now include JPMorganChase, Infosys, and Utilities One, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of major banks, insurance carriers, and life sciences companies makes it one of the more active states for this role year-round.
Which New Jersey cities have the most risk compliance analyst jobs?
Jersey City, Newark, and Bridgewater have the most risk compliance analyst openings in New Jersey. Jersey City and Newark drive volume through the large financial institutions and insurance firms headquartered there, while Princeton attracts openings tied to the pharmaceutical and life sciences companies clustered in the Route 1 corridor, which pulls significant compliance hiring into that suburban market.
Are there remote risk compliance analyst jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than most fields. Risk compliance analysis is largely desk-based and documentation-driven, making it well suited to remote arrangements. About 67% of risk compliance analyst openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers in financial services and pharma have adopted flexible work policies. Roles focused on policy review, regulatory reporting, and audit coordination tend to offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a risk compliance analyst in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a compliance associate, audit coordinator, or risk operations role, which major New Jersey employers in banking and life sciences use to bring in early-career candidates. Firms like Prudential Financial and large regional banks headquartered in Newark and Jersey City regularly post associate-level compliance positions that accept candidates with a relevant bachelor's degree and no direct experience. Earning a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager certification early and completing internships in internal audit or legal departments at New Jersey institutions significantly improves competitiveness.
