• 
  Radioactive Drug Research Committee (RDRC) – Federally mandated under the FDA, the Committee reviews all research involving radioactive drug use in human subjects, concurrent with the Colorado Multiple Institutional Review Board (COMIRB). The RDRC research review is performed in accordance with mandated federal regulations.
• Committee on Ionizing Radiation (CIR) – The CIR provides oversight of the entire Radiation Safety Program, reviews and approves all non-human research involving radioactive materials and radiation-producing machines on behalf of the University.
• Committee on Ionizing Radiation for Human Use (HuCIR) – The HuCIR reviews and approves all human research involving use of radioactive materials and radiation-producing machines.
• Laser Safety Committee (LSC) – The LSC reviews and approves all research and clinical applications of Class 3B and Class 4 lasers on behalf of the University.
• Any other committees and subcommittees as deemed appropriate by EHS management.

• 
  Managing Radiation Safety training – This includes following up on overdue training, responding to online course access questions, handling any training history corrections, and scheduling researchers for in-person training.
• Managing Radiation Safety Dosimetry program – This includes processing new and cancellation requests, saving dose reports, creating new dosimetry groups when needed, sending out annual Form 5s, and tracking down late or missing dosimetry.
• General Radiation Safety Invoicing – Send out instrument calibration invoices as needed, quarterly UCH invoicing (instruments and waste), and vendor invoicing/billing as needed.
• Website Management – Manage Radiation Safety page of EHS website and keep up to date with current contact information and documents
• Radiation Safety Reports – Run various reports (Instrument calibration, sealed source inventory, audits, etc.) at required frequencies to assist Radiation Safety team in maintaining compliance.
• Any other administrative duties related to the radiation safety program as deemed appropriate by Radiation Safety and EHS management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning, coordinating, and staffing committee meetings. Works with the Radiation Safety Office, Radiation Safety Committees Chair(s) and committee members to develop meeting schedules, arrange meeting rooms and necessary audiovisual or computer support for meetings; prepares the meeting agenda and oversees protocol packet preparation and distribution to Committee members and assures a quorum is available to convene the meeting and conduct committee business.
• Serves as the recorder for minutes (in addition to using electronic recording equipment) at Committee meetings to ensure that the minutes accurately reflect the meeting content. Must be able to understand and transcribe upper-level technical, medical and legal language, and research concepts.
• Transcribes handwritten notes, email reviews/comments from Committee members and the electronic recordings to prepare draft meeting minutes for review by the committee. Corrects or amends draft documents to ensure that the minutes accurately reflect the meeting content and ensures that minutes comply with federal standards.
• Responsible for entering results of deliberations, and voting on applications, at convened meetings in the appropriate databases.

• Responsible for ensuring that the Committee’s policies and procedures are consistently applied to all applications (projects, protocols) submitted for review to EHS and the Radiation Safety Committees.
• Work closely with the different departments within OVCR to accurately coordinate review and approval of research protocols involving ionizing radiation used in animal or human research.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for questions for researchers conducting research involving radioactive materials pertaining to appropriate forms and processes for approval.
• Works with the Radiation Safety Division of EHS to conduct pre-review of all applications submitted and prioritize protocols for review.
• In conjunction with the Radiation Safety Division of EHS, the Coordinator will assist with preparation for audits of designated research facilities to ensure the proper maintenance and accuracy of protocol files and data entry according to state and federal regulatory requirements and committee administration SOPs or guidelines to ensure the timeliness, correctness and compliance of reviews conducted by the respective committees, and verifying compliance with CDPHE licenses conditions and 21 CFR 361.1 rules.
• In conjunction with the Radiation Safety Division of EHS, will assist in performing internal audits of all radiation safety committees for regulatory compliance, operation, and record-keeping.

• The individual manages all administrative aspects of the receipt of incoming applications (protocols, projects) and related documents (amendments, addenda, supporting documents) received by the Radiation Safety Program.
• Responsible for checking the Radiation Safety Committee shared email accounts daily for incoming application forms and supporting documentation and responses to requests for information from Principal Investigators.
• Saves all applications and supporting documents as electronic files for internal pre-review by the Radiation Safety Office.
• Enters all pertinent data upon receipt of applications, amendments and any other supporting documents in the Radiation Safety Program database, spreadsheets, and the EHS-Assistant database, as necessary.
• Serving as a resource to faculty and research staff who have committee process-related questions to be addressed. Work with the Radiation Safety Committees on the drafting, development and publication of committee policies and administrative procedures as well as assisting in the development of the committee website.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

• Responsible for managing and coordinating radiation safety training. This includes reaching out to researchers and PIs regarding overdue training, updating individual training requirements and histories when needed, assisting with accessing training online, and scheduling in-person Radiation Safety training. Will monitor RAD training email for any other requests as necessary.
• Serves as the primary contact and manager of the dosimetry program. This includes processing all new and cancellation requests, adding/removing dosimetry groups as needed, following up on late or missing dosimetry, sending out annual dose reports, and invoicing with the dosimetry provider
• Creates and sends out Radiation safety invoices for services the program provides. These can include calibration invoices, waste pickup invoices, and coordinating with providers/manufacturers for large equipment purchases.
• Ensure Radiation Safety page of EHS website is maintained and kept up to date. Make any changes in a timely manner when necessary
• Generates Radiation Safety reports (Instrument calibration, sealed source inventory, audits, etc.) at required frequencies to assist Radiation Safety team in maintaining compliance. Coordinates with members of the Radiation Safety team and/or researchers/PIs to schedule pickups and meetings.
• Any other administrative duties related to the Radiation Safety program as deemed appropriate by Radiation Safety and EHS management.

  A bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution and 1 year of professional level experience managing research studies.

    Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as

• $57,525 - $77,083.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
