Sales Manager Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales manager job in Boston?
Boston's strongest hiring comes from life sciences firms in the Longwood Medical Area, financial services companies in the Financial District, and SaaS and tech companies concentrated in the Seaport and Cambridge. Candidates with experience managing B2B or enterprise sales cycles stand out here. Targeting mid-size growth-stage companies, which are abundant across Boston's innovation corridors, often yields faster traction than pursuing large legacy employers.
Which companies hire sales managers in Boston?
Boston sales manager roles are posted by Pyramid Global Hospitality, Alo, and Jobot and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Boston's employer mix skews toward biotech and medtech firms, regional banks, insurance companies, and fast-growing SaaS startups, many of which run dedicated sales teams out of offices in the Seaport, Back Bay, and Cambridge.
Are there remote sales manager jobs in Boston?
Yes, though sales manager roles are less remote-friendly than purely analytical positions since they often involve team leadership, client meetings, and in-person pipeline reviews. About 65% of sales manager openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with the remote share highest among enterprise SaaS and inside-sales-focused companies. Field sales and retail-facing manager roles in Boston are nearly always on-site.
How can I get a sales manager job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Boston is moving up from an individual contributor role, such as account executive or business development representative, at a local SaaS company or life sciences firm. Boston's dense startup ecosystem in the Seaport and Cambridge regularly promotes strong performers into team lead positions. Familiarity with Salesforce and a demonstrated quota record in any sales role, even junior, carries significant weight with Boston hiring teams.
Which industries hire the most sales managers in Boston?
Most sales manager openings in Boston sit in Technology & Software, Manufacturing, and Distribution & Wholesale, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026.
