Sales Route Driver Jobs in Minnesota: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales route driver in Minnesota?
Most Minnesota sales route driver positions require a valid Minnesota driver's license, and routes involving larger vehicles or heavier cargo require a Minnesota Commercial Driver's License issued through the Minnesota Driver and Vehicle Services division. Employers typically prefer a high school diploma or equivalent and some background in sales, delivery, or customer service. Completing a safe-driving course recognized by Minnesota DVS strengthens any application, and familiarity with the Twin Cities or regional geography is a practical advantage most local employers look for.
Which companies hire sales route drivers in Minnesota?
Minnesota sales route driver roles are posted by Viking Coca-Cola Bottling, Vestis, and Canteen and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Minnesota's dense network of food distributors, beverage companies, and wholesale suppliers makes it one of the steadier markets in the Midwest for route driver hiring year-round.
Which Minnesota cities have the most sales route driver jobs?
Saint Cloud, Minneapolis, and Willmar lead Minnesota for sales route driver openings. The Twin Cities anchor the list because of the concentration of regional distribution centers, grocery chains, and foodservice accounts headquartered or heavily served there, while Rochester's medical and retail corridor and Duluth's port-adjacent wholesale activity drive demand in those markets.
Are there remote sales route driver jobs in Minnesota?
Yes, but they're rare. About 0% of sales route driver openings tied to Minnesota are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, which reflects how hands-on the role is by nature. The parts of the work most likely to be done off-route are account reporting, order entry, and inside sales support functions that some larger Minnesota distributors staff separately from the driving position itself.
How can I get hired as a sales route driver in Minnesota with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for a helper, ride-along, or warehouse-to-route associate position with a regional Minnesota distributor such as a Sysco or U.S. Foods branch, which regularly hire candidates without prior route experience and train them internally. Earning a Minnesota CDL before applying immediately widens the pool of positions available to you. Adjacent roles like grocery stock associate, delivery helper, or warehouse selector at Target-affiliated or Supervalu-connected distribution facilities in the Twin Cities give hands-on logistics exposure that Minnesota route sales managers treat as equivalent to direct experience.
Where can I find and apply to sales route driver jobs in Minnesota?
You can find and apply to sales route driver jobs in Minnesota on Migrate Mate, which lists current Minnesota openings updated regularly. Search the listings, identify roles that match your experience and preferred territory, and apply directly to the ones that fit. No signup is required to see the openings.
