Job Overview
The Project Controls Scheduler develop, maintain, and optimize detailed project schedules for building or expanding semiconductor fabrication plants (fabs). The role ensures projects stay on schedule, identifies risks early, coordinates multiple stakeholders (contractors, subcontractors, vendors, engineers and owners).
General Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules for semiconductor construction projects, including site preparation, MEP, cleanroom build-out, tool installation, hook-up, commissioning, and handover.
- Build and manage logic-driven schedules that clearly identify project milestones, dependencies, constraints, critical paths, and long-lead items.
- Collect progress updates through site walks, contractor reports, coordination meetings, and input from project teams.
- Monitor schedule performance, identify delays or risks, and provide recovery plans, mitigation options, and schedule impact updates to project leadership.
- Coordinate schedule requirements with various departments and client stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain schedule reports, dashboards, look-ahead schedules, progress updates, and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support tool installation, vendor activity planning, and coordination between construction completion and facility system readiness.
- Incorporate engineering changes, scope changes, and project updates into the schedule while maintaining accurate records and schedule traceability.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or related field strongly preferred; equivalent project controls experience may be considered.
- 5+ years of construction scheduling experience required.
- Direct semiconductor fab, tool install, cleanroom, or high-tech manufacturing construction scheduling experience required.
- Advanced Primavera P6 experience required, including baseline management, schedule logic, CPM, progress updates, variance analysis, and reporting.
- Experience with resource loading, cost loading, earned value management, S-curves, schedule recovery planning, and delay analysis required or strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, schedule requirements, and project controls documentation.
- PMI-SP, AACE PSP/CST, PMP, OSHA, LEED, or other relevant project controls/construction credentials preferred.
Skills
- Strong analytical, sequencing, forecasting, and risk-identification skills.
- High proficiency with Primavera P6, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Smartsheet, and project controls reporting tools.
- Ability to communicate schedule issues clearly to leadership, field teams, subcontractors, and client stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under aggressive project timelines.
- Willingness to work onsite in an active construction environment and support overtime/weekend needs as required.
