Scrum Master Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a scrum master in Florida?
Florida has no state-issued license for scrum masters, so the path runs through industry certification and employer experience. The most recognized credential is the Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance, earned by completing an accredited course and passing the exam. Florida employers in financial services and defense often also value the SAFe Agilist certification. A background in project coordination, business analysis, or software development makes candidates most competitive for Florida openings.
How much do scrum masters make in Florida?
Scrum masters in Florida earn a median of about $105,370 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $52,960 for the lowest 10% to over $173,260 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire scrum masters in Florida?
Florida scrum master roles are posted by Kaufman Rossin, EBG, and Infosys and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's concentration of defense contractors, regional banks, and large hospital systems means scrum masters with regulated-industry experience are especially sought after.
Which Florida cities have the most scrum master jobs?
Tampa, Miami, and Orlando account for the largest share of scrum master openings in Florida. Miami's financial services and technology sectors drive demand in the southeast, Tampa's growing fintech and healthcare IT industry anchors the Gulf Coast market, and Orlando's defense contractors and enterprise software companies generate steady openings in the central region.
Are there remote scrum master jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 80% of scrum master openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how central digital collaboration is to the role. Ceremony facilitation, backlog grooming, and stakeholder reporting are the tasks most consistently done fully remote, while on-site expectations tend to appear in defense and regulated healthcare settings.
How can I get hired as a scrum master in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from a business analyst, project coordinator, or QA lead role within an organization that already runs agile teams. Large Florida employers in healthcare IT, such as those affiliated with AdventHealth or HCA Florida, and defense firms like Leidos and Northrop Grumman in the Tampa and Orlando areas periodically bring on junior agile coaches or agile team members. Earning a Certified ScrumMaster credential before applying, and documenting any sprint facilitation or retrospective work from a previous role, gives candidates a concrete edge.
Where can I find and apply to scrum master jobs in Florida?
