Scrum Master Jobs in Texas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a scrum master in Texas?
Texas has no state-issued license for scrum masters, so the path runs through industry certifications and relevant work experience. Most Texas employers expect at least a Certified ScrumMaster credential from Scrum Alliance or a SAFe Scrum Master certification from Scaled Agile, both of which require coursework and an exam. A background in software development, business analysis, or project coordination strengthens an application considerably in the Texas market.
How much do scrum masters make in Texas?
Scrum masters in Texas earn a median of about $111,530 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $55,480 for the lowest 10% to over $174,300 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire scrum masters in Texas?
Employers hiring scrum masters in Texas right now include GM Financial, HCLTech, and Sparc technology services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Texas's strong concentration of financial services, defense contractors, and enterprise technology firms means demand is particularly steady in the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin corridors.
Which Texas cities have the most scrum master jobs?
Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio account for the largest share of scrum master openings in Texas. Austin's dense technology and SaaS employer base drives much of that city's volume, while Dallas-Fort Worth pulls demand from major financial institutions and telecom headquarters, and Houston adds significant openings through its energy-sector technology and healthcare systems operations.
Are there remote scrum master jobs in Texas?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 65% of scrum master openings tied to Texas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's collaborative but screen-based nature. Fully remote positions tend to cluster around enterprise software delivery and fintech teams, where distributed agile is already established practice.
How can I get hired as a scrum master in Texas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is earning a Certified ScrumMaster credential and then applying for junior scrum master or agile team coordinator roles at large Texas employers such as Dell Technologies, USAA, or Texas Instruments, all of which run structured onboarding programs for early-career hires. Business analysts, QA leads, and project coordinators frequently make a lateral move into scrum master roles by demonstrating sprint facilitation experience on internal teams. A visible portfolio of retrospectives run or process improvements led makes a strong case when formal experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to scrum master jobs in Texas?
You can find and apply to scrum master jobs in Texas on Migrate Mate, which lists current Texas openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and apply directly to each one without creating an account or signing up for anything.
